Central Sanskrit University, formerly Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, is a central university located in New Delhi, India for the promotion of Sanskrit. Founded in 1970, it serves under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, and is also accredited with a grade ‘A’ by NAAC. In March 2020, the Parliament of India passed the Central Sanskrit Universities Act, 2020 to upgrade it from deemed to be university status to central university status, along with two other universities National Sanskrit University and Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University. Central Sanskrit University offers a variety of UG and PG Sanskrit programs. Admission to UG and PG programs is based on merit results from entrance exams such as the CUET UG and CUET PG respectively. However, Admission to the BEd program is based on a CSSET exam followed by an interview, whereas admission to the M.Ed program is based on a valid CSAET score. The Central Sanskrit University, Delhi implements various schemes of the Central Government for the cultivation and propagation of the Sanskrit language and literature. The Government of India offers Sanskrit scholarships through Central Sanskrit University of up to INR 2,500 to students studying Sanskrit as a primary or optional subject in graduation, post-graduation, and Ph.D level. The students are chosen for the Sanskrit scholarship based on their merit. Central Sanskrit University Scholarship is awarded to students who have secured a minimum percentage or equivalent grade in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit and can apply for overall scholarship in all subjects –
