Gujarat Ayurved University is the first Ayurveda University in the world located in Jamnagar, Gujarat that aims to impart teaching, training and research in various specialities of Ayurveda. Gujarat Ayurved University was established in 1965 by an Act of the Gujarat State Government. The university has designed UG, PG, PhD, and Certificate courses in Ayurvedic Pharmaceutical Sciences, Ayurvedic Medicinal Plant Sciences and Yoga & Naturopathy. It is accredited with Grade “A” by NAAC and is recognized by UGC. It offers 32 different courses in the various streams of Yoga, Pharmacy, and Ayurveda at Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and PhD levels.

World Health Organisation (WHO) has recognized the Institute for the Postgraduate Teaching & Research in Ayurveda (IPGT & RA). WHO designated the institute as a collaborative Centre for Traditional Medicines (Ayurveda).
