Placements are facilitated by the college. There is a special committee formed by the students to bring the best recruiters to the college. They operate with a Student fit recruitment policy on a cluster cohort basis.

Remarks:

Applications are opened by one of the IIM institutions on a rotation basis. Applicant must possess a valid degree from any of the prestigious institutions. The application fee is 1200 per person. Application dates are announced by IIM whichever is charing the process for that Academic year.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is hectic and keeps you busy. But the faculty is amazing. Geniuses of the country surround you. 5 sections 90 students each. FABM students study with PGP students for the 1st year. Electives are chosen in the second year. All schedules are pre-decided. The whole curriculum is tough but there is relative grading and thus you can pass if you give your best.

Remarks:

You need to fulfill college admission criteria after appearing for CAT results. Should have atleat 80% in all three subjects of the CAT exam. Preferred if you have an agriculture background. But food tech, Agri tech, dairy tech, and biotech can also apply. The profile should be built to stand out among candidates. All application forms are on the official website of CAT and the college.

Placement Experience:

The placement process starts from the time we join the campus. It is a cluster cohort system, with an aim of right fit for every student.. For first-year students after completion of Term 1, a Summer internship takes place, and for second-year placement start after 5th term. Many companies visit campus offering various profiles in Finance, consulting, marketing, IT, product management, real estate, consumer goods, and pharmaceuticals. 190 recruiters offered 220 offers during the last season. However, it is confidential to share the name of the companies. Highest package was Rs. 1.12 CTC, an average of Rs. 36.2 LPA in India. International offers had the highest package of $150,297. 100% of opted students got placed in the last season. My plan includes working for an MNC for 5-10 years and setting up a Startup. The highest

Remarks:

Admissions to IIM Ahmedabad PGP MBA a 2-year program are through CAT (Common entrance exam). Eligibility: The candidate must possess a bachelor's degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks or equivalent. Entrance exam: The application form shall be available on the official IIM website 2 months before the exam. The application fee may vary from year to year. However, it was Rs. 1200 for general category applicants and Rs. 900 for SC/ST/PWD category applicants. Application date starts usually start in August and end by mid-September. Improvement in the admission process: 1. Multiple admission rounds: To provide a chance to attempt CAT multiple (at least twice)a year, this would help the applicant to give the exam at a suitable time. 2. Consider multiple entrance tests like CAT, GMAT, GRE, and XAT to add more diversity 3. To include seats for foreign students on at least some quota basis, this would help in enriching the learning with cross-country diversity.

Placement Experience:

The PGP first-year students sit for the summer placement in November, whereas the PGP second-year students sit for lateral placement in January and final placement in February. The company's details and average packages can be found on the website of IIMA. After my degree, I plan to work for a few years before going for my own start-up.

Remarks:

The admission process consists of 3 stages. The first one is writing the CAT exam and qualifying for the minimum cut-off. In the second stage, IIMA considers past academic records, work ex, and background along with CAT score for shortlisting to the interview round. Then the 3rd stage is the interview and WAT (Written Ability Test) round, after which they offer admission. Application forms can be found on the CAT website (released in the first week of August).

Ques. What is your review of Life at IIM Ahmedabad?

● Top Answer By Arush Trivedi on 28 Jul 21

Some of my friends studied at IIM Ahmedabad. According to them it is one of the best management colleges in India. Here’s some points about the college I gathered from them. Infrastructure It has an extremely good campus infrastructure with classrooms, laboratories, libraries, sports complexes, auditoriums, that are up to the mark. The campus also offers WI-FI connectivity 24*7. The Hostels and Mess are also well equipped with numerous facilities. Placements The institution has a well-organized placement committee. IIM Ahmedabad has a record of 100% student placements and summer internships for the past few years. The highest salary package goes up to 60 LPA. Faculty The teachers appointed are highly qualified and have years of industry experience. They are also involved in research work and also offer consultancy services to many companies. The discussions in classrooms among students and faculty members are extremely enriching. Curriculum The curriculum for first-year students is compulsory and covers topics like accounting and finance, behavioral science, communication, economics, IT, marketing and many more. You will be required to do an internship for around 8 to 10 weeks at the end of the first year of college. The course curriculum of the second year offers the students numerous opportunities to pursue studies in the fields of their interests along with several mandatory courses. The mandatory courses can provide you with a global and domestic context in the areas of entrepreneurship, and sustainability. Alumni The Alumni network at IIM Ahmedabad has developed over the years and is surely one of the best. Industry leaders have been alumni of IIM A and a lot of them visit the campus regularly. The overall environment is really good as not a lot of limitations have been imposed upon the students by the college authorities. The student crowd of the institution is also extremely good. Thus it is a good place for the students....Read more

Ques. How good is the IIM Ahmedabad PGPX 1-year full-time program?

● Top Answer By Devansh Pathak on 22 Dec 22

If your current package is less than 15 LPA, pursuing PGPX 1-year full-time program at IIM Ahmedabad is good. You should look at international colleges if your current package exceeds 15 LPA. You should always do your MBA and find a job outside of India. India is simply the world's back office. It is different if you want to be an IAS officer, but Indian corporate is slavery and junk. Working here for an extended period of time will undoubtedly turn you into a lunatic. One week of college life is enough to demonstrate the quality of American education. The tasks are out of this world. Americans are among the world's smartest and most innovative people. As a last resort, continue your education in India. Even if you have more than 5 years of work experience, IIM A/ISB will only hire you in one of India's back offices....Read more

Ques. Are the IIMs at Ahmedabad Bangalore and Calcutta equally good, especially regarding placements?

● Top Answer By Radha Sharan on 01 Dec 22

All three are fantastic brands, but that's it. After the first two terms, there isn't much to learn at any of these colleges. If you come from a CA/Commerce background, you won't need to learn much about these two terms. Case study-based instruction is overrated and out of date. Because the cultures on the campuses differ slightly, it is best to consider where you will fit in the best. While the set of recruiters is very similar, your ability to get shortlisted is heavily dependent on your relative profile, i.e., your performance in comparison to other students in your batch. It is more important to consider how good your profile is in comparison to the recruiters who come to the college. IIMB has a much higher average work experience, and IIMC will have more people with extremely high CAT scores but a slightly lower academic performance history. For example, if you don't have stellar academics and aren't from one of the top undergraduate institutions, IIMC is a better option for placement. If you want to work in finance but don't have much experience, IIMA is probably not the best option for you. A and B have much more professional placement cells, but C has made changes in recent years to move in this direction as well. However, having a professional placement cell does not guarantee a completely fair process, because, in many companies, PPO holders play a significant role in Summer placement shortlists. However, when compared to other colleges, the situation in these three is far superior. IIM A is a slightly better brand than IIM B and IIM C, but the difference is not significant. You should talk to people at all of these colleges about placement. While much placement-related data is kept confidential, students can still give you an idea of your chances in the field of your choice. Rather than following the age-old ABC pattern, make an informed decision....Read more

Ques. How is it like being at FMS Delhi? Would you trade your life with someone studying in top IIMs A B or C?

● Top Answer By Gaurav Yadav on 10 Jan 23

In comparison to the IIMs, FMS retains the advantages of small batch size and a fee structure that is relatively low. The small batch size simplifies placements significantly. With the exception of a few foreign consultancies, most of the top companies that visit the IIMs also visit FMS. Despite all of the university's bureaucracy, etc., there is a well-established alumni network that still ensures that things work out for the current batches. Because of the small batch size, people are extremely competitive. This was in stark contrast to what you hear about the IIMs. Even though they have competition but they maintain some semblance of sanity due to the large batch. FMS can be difficult to manage at times, both in obvious behaviours and subtle actions by people you study with. The culture at FMS is influenced by the culture of Delhi. In comparison, IIMs are unquestionably more cosmopolitan. Unless you have prior exposure, adjusting to a new environment can be difficult for people from very different cultures, such as the South or East. Otherwise, you'll have to learn to adjust the hard way. But it's still worth the effort. The people you meet in both locations are of the highest calibre. It is up to you to make the best of the situation. Even if given the chance, there's no way one would like to trade places with the IIMs....Read more

Ques. Is IIT Bombay a better choice for an MBA than IIM Bangalore or IIM Ahmedabad, considering the overall experience and ROI they have to offer?

● Top Answer By Arshit Jain on 30 Dec 22

For an MBA, you should not even compare IIT Bombay and IIM Ahmedabad or Bangalore or Calcutta. The IIT Bombay is a prestigious engineering school. For management, IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Calcutta are the same. Both are in a completely different league.  Considering only ROI makes no sense from the perspective of an MBA because an MBA is more than just an investment in yourself. These IIMs have much better professors, a world-class curriculum, peer groups, alumni, placements, student exchange opportunities, and so on. So, if you get through them, please go for the IIMs. Financing your education will be simple because once you graduate from one of these IIMs, banks will be eager to extend loans, sometimes even without a guarantee. And if you do well, you will be able to find a good job and pay off your loan in a few years....Read more

Ques. What is your review of FPM (Fellow Programme in Management), IIM Ahmedabad?

● Top Answer By Kareena Luthra on 07 Dec 22

IIMA's FPM program is unique and distinguished. It is a difficult program that puts your motivation to the test. You will complete two years of coursework, followed by a comprehensive examination, before submitting a research proposal and defending your thesis. It is a research program that should not be compared to traditional PG programs such as PGP/ MBA. The duration is roughly 4-5 years, but it can be extended depending on your effort and luck. There are no tuition fees, and the institute will provide you with a generous stipend for the next five years. Following FPM, one can pursue an academic career or work in the industry. The degree provides you with numerous options, freedom, and opportunities.  To summarize, it is an excellent program that is difficult to complete. Even after passing through the hallowed portals, the journey to completion is difficult yet rewarding....Read more
