Ques. How should I prepare for IIT Gandhinagar MSc Cognitive Science written test? How many sections are asked in the test?

Ans. My brother appeared in the written test for MSc Cognitive Sciences in February 2020. So, I can give you some insight about the same. The written test analyses your comprehensive skills i.e. the ability to implement the things you read. The section will contain comprehension questions. It will also include some of the paragraphs or questions based on the Cognitive Science Journals. Examination Pattern: The written test is the same for everyone. It contains 4 questions of comprehensive type and 1 of data interpretation. The total marks for the examination are 25 and the duration is 1 hour. Preparation Tips: For preparation, you can simply take some random comprehensive type question off the internet and solve it. In his examination, my brother had passages from pathophysiology of neurodegenerative disorders, case-studies on behavioral experiments using VR/AR, etc. The questions are designed in a way that everyone can interpret them. Ans. A lot is taught about fieldwork when one does their B.Tech. in MSE at IITGN. If you are eager to gain more and more knowledge then it is advisable to take up projects under the professors. Category NIT Gandhinagar Total Fee 10,30,000 Companies Visited Goldman Sachs, HPCL, ISRO, etc. Highest Package 40 LPA Recruiting Companies ACC Limited, Hindustan Construction Company, JMC Projects, Tata Steel, etc. Also, the facilities provided by IITGN are commendable and the college possesses very well-equipped labs. They also have very good types of equipment for research in the field of Material Science. Therefore, the opportunities after the completion of a degree are enormous. Ans. No, IIT Gandhinagar does not shortlist candidates from 2nd round of M tech candidates. Also, they don’t provide any waiting list for the same. They keep the seats vacant if anyone does not take admission. Although it is not correct as the seats remain vacant which can be filled by other waiting list candidates and their year will also not get wasted but this is not in our hands. M.Tech seats are first filled by premium IITs and then the remaining seats by outside students who have qualified GATE. If you enter the college by qualifying GATE then you will be eligible for a scholarship as well. The college also conducts its personal test for M.Tech admissions. In which they ask quantitative, reasoning and engineering mathematics. There are no spot admissions as of now. As the college is new more changes are expected in the coming future.Read more

Fees are expensive when you compare it with other institutions in India. However, if you take account of its premium status, the fees looks feasible to me. No, there are no additional charges that are to be paid to secure the admission, and the fee structure is very transparent and available readily on internet.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course curriculum is very-much relevant and research-oriented, however it lacks to impart industry-specific knowledge. However, most of the students learn the relevant skills required through internships, or some online courses o such. Industrial visits are not frequent in our branch, however it is common in some of the other branches.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Program fee for Btech civil engineering in 2017 was somewhere around Rs. 50000. Apart from this there is a mess fee and hostel fee of Rs. 15000. The fee is pretty much uniform for everybody apart from certain students who have secured scholarships. There is no external charges paid to secure the course and offers are rolled out purely on basis of merit.

My semester fees is 153000 per semester including hostel and mess it is a little expensive looking at the efforts we put to get there but facilities are also best. College accepts fees thourough their online portal and fees structures is transparent and quite convincingly.

Curriculum is industry-specific and mostly our institute is research-oriented a lot of students go abroad for higher studies. a lot of industry visits are organised as part of our course structure and internship opportunities are given as our college has for ups with many industries also we are given semester long projects to work with industries.
