Junagadh Agricultural University offers various courses in the field of Agriculture through its five colleges namely College of Agriculture, College of Agriculture Engineering and Technology, College of Fisheries, College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry & P.G. Institute of A.B.M. (Agriculture Business Management).

A number of courses at UG, PG and Ph.D. level are offered by the University under various specializations. The application procedure for these courses start mainly by the month of June. The admission to the UG courses are based on the GUJCET score obtained by the candidates, whereas, for admission to the PG and Ph.D. courses, the candidates need to sit for an entrance test conducted by the University.

The reservation of seats for different categories are as follows:

Schedule Caste (SC) - 7%
Schedule Tribe (ST) - 15%
Socially and Educationally Backward Communities (SEBC) - 27%
For disabled (Physically Challenged candidate) - 3%

Junagadh Agricultural University UG Admission 2020

JAU offers Undergraduate courses with various specializations in the field of Agriculture. The University offers B.Sc. degree in Agriculture and Horticulture. The college also offers B.Tech degree in Agriculture and Engineering, Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries & Science (B.F.Sc.) and Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.).

The B.Sc., B.Tech and B.F.Sc. courses are offered for a duration of four years, whereas, the B.V.Sc. & A.H. course is offered for a duration of five years at JAU.

The admission to all the undergraduate courses are based on the GUJCET score of the candidates. GUJCET stands for Gujarat Common Entrance Test conducted by Gujarat State Education Board (GSEB) for candidates who are giving their 10+2 exmaination. The candidates willing to apply for GUJCET can visit the GSEB official website

Key Points:

Weightage of 5 % Marks are given to Farmer’s Son / Daughter / Brother / Sister / Grand son / Grand-daughter
Weightage of 5 % Marks are given For Agriculture subject of Higher Secondary vocational stream in Agriculture

Junagadh Agricultural University PG Admission 2020

JAU offers a number of postgraduate courses in the Agriculture field. The University offers M.Sc. Agriculture, M.Sc. Horticulture, M.Tech., M.F.Sc., M.V.Sc. and M.B.A. in Agri-business. All these courses are offered for a period of two years. In addition, the University also offers a PG Diploma course in Agriculture I.T. for a duration of 18 months.

The application process for these courses start by the last week of June. The eligible candidates are required to sit for an entrance test conducted by the University for various PG courses.

The basis of selection of candidate for the admission shall be based on the the merit. The merit list shall be prepared by giving 50 : 50 weightage to the marks of OGPA (percentage marks) of the last degree and common entrance test examination. However, a candidate shall have to obtain 50% of marks in common entrance test examination to become eligible for the merit list.

Key Points:

The admission requirements shall be relaxed by maximum five per cent for an employee of the University nominated for Master and Doctorate study from other Universities / Institute of Gujarat as well as employees nominated by State / Central Government or ICAR and In–service candidates
If the free seats remain vacant after counseling of the students of Gujarat domicile in MBA (AgriBusiness), the vacant seats shall be filled upon the basis of merit by the students of out states with norms of payments seats basis within the intake capacity

Junagadh Agricultural University Ph.D Admission 2020

Junagadh Agricultural University also offers the Ph.D. degree in various specializations in the field of Agriculture. All the Ph.D. courses are offered for a duration of three years.

The Ph.D. course is offered with 15 different specialization subjects. Candidates who are eligible for the course need to sit for an entrance test conducted by the University and the final merit list will be prepared considering the marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance test as well as the previous qualifying examination.

Admission :

In graduation i got admission on the basis of 12th Science B group Merit list, while for post graduation i cleared Entrance exam. It requires at least 50% marks in entrance exam to get eligible for Post graduation.

Remarks :

Negative: When I was the student, it has very small building and limited resources, no college bus for students to get proper transportation and no proper play ground. Positive: New campus with huge building and play ground in the campus. Fully functional laboratories with adequate and professionally qualified staff.
