What students say about Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology - [SVNIT]

Likes

  • Mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering are the most sought-after branches due to the high demand from industries.
  • This year, many students are getting a chance to intern in this company. Similarly, many companies are coming and offering intern opportunities.
  • Placements are very good for my branch; almost 100% of people get placed every time in computer engineering.
  • But my friends who belong to SC, ST, and OBC get a very good amount of scholarship.
  • Campus life is awesome. Every batch consists of approximately 750 students, out of which 150 are girls.
  • Hostels are the best part of the campus, be it in terms of food, infrastructure, or anything else.
  • The one thing that I would like to emphasize is that the infrastructure in the college is great. Hostels are good, and the internet is very good. The college is also located in an opulent location.

Dislike

  • The amount given to the students depends on the total budget of the Institute for that academic year.
  • Although I did not avail any scholarship facility, my college does provide scholarship facilities for poor students or students in certain categories.
  • The hostels structure is very poor. All the structures are the worst and have outdated facilities, such as Indian toilets instead of American toilets. There is a common balcony for two rooms, and there is no clean water facility.
  • Just a few negative points, like hostels and food, which I think are poor in all colleges in India, would not make it a bad college.

Placement Experience:

The student is eligible for placement from the 6th semester, and there are so many companies visiting our campus like BPCL i.e. reliance, Vedanta, and so many highest placement is 45, lkpa and the lowest is 6 lpa approximation of 89 percent of student git placed in every year.

Remarks:

Admission through JEE main entrance exam and after clearing the JEE cutoff of 95%tile for general males we have to process for application form ton jossa consulting or CSAB counseling and then we have to do a fee payment. The reservation benefits are available for SC, ST, and OBC.

Course Curriculum Overview:

good placements are here in the core. Gujarat is the chemical hub of India, so placements are very good. faculty qualifications are good, they are Ph.D. holders and some are top scientists in India. exams are conducted twice a sem.

Remarks:

you have to clear jee and then you have to apply for jossa counseling Applications are open, you can find the application online. jee is conducted twice a year. the process is very simple and easy. I guess no improvement is needed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Faculties are quite good and experienced in their field. Some are as regular faculties as others whereas some are quite friendly and helping in nature. Overall faculty pool is quite appreciable. Talking about attendance 75% attendance is needed. Also, exams are of moderate level not much difficult to pass. The student faculty ratio is 1:60.

Remarks:

Eligibility is generally based on the result of JEE Mains's number and rank. You need to qualify and get a rank preferably under 30k for the general category for being on the safe side. Cut-off generally various between 30 -35k for general and for OBC you can expect closing rank between 50-60k and for Sc, ST another state 80k-120k can fetch you this college. The Reservation is available for category students.

Placement Experience:

Thr average package offered in civil is about 6 lakhs n the highest package is about 15 lakhs...about 60 percent students get placed and I have plans to run a buisness or get an MBA after my btech in order to do well in life

Remarks:

The cutoff for admission in the civil branch is about 95 percentile in jee mains for the general category...the entrance exam is fairly difficult and it takes a lot of hard work to clear it...the admission process is very streamlined and efficient. I had encountered no difficulties in my admission process

Placement Experience:

The placements at this college are appreciable. After the 4th sem, students are eligible for the placements. The companies like google, Microsoft, L and T, DeShawn, and TVS visited every year. This year the highest placement is 58.18 lac. Almost 80% of people are placed in this college. I will also take placement after my degree will be completed

Remarks:

Admission in this college is through jossa(Joint Seat Allocation Authority) Counselling. for to eligible for this counselling you should appear in jee mains (joint entrance examination) and score above the cutoff. In 2022 the cutoff is 8s around 90percentile. through jee mains, you are eligible for NITs, and IIITs which is a government college so you will get reservation benefits on the basis of both gender and caste. The admission process is quite smooth and I didn't face such difficulties

Placement Experience:

Almost 75% of students got their intentions and placement. Companies like L&T visited the company and you can apply for the non-core companies too on campus. The highest package from my branch was about 15 LPA and the average package was about 5 to 7 LPA. Most of the students do their higher studies after the completion of BTech abroad or the same or in any other college. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree or to do a start-up.

Remarks:

There is counselling called JOSAA for the admission process in nits. Students who appeared for the jee mains exams conducted by NTA can register for counselling. There are no application fees for the admission process. You can get lots of benefits if you have reserved a category. The overall Admission process is smooth. According to me, there is not nothing to improve further but yes the category benefits are too much and it's not fair for the deserving general candidates
