Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla offers a Bachelor of Arts & Bachelor of Legislative Law (B.A. LLB Hons.) course for a duration of 5 years.

The minimum eligibility to apply for the B.A. LLB (Hons.) courses offered at HPU is 10+2. The selection of candidates is purely merit-based.

HPU B.A. LLB (Hons.) Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to the B.A. LLB course offered at Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla shall fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • Must have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 from a recognized board.
  • 5% relaxation is given to candidates belonging to SC/ST category.
  • Shall be of maximum 20 years of age as of July 01, 2021.
  •  2 years of relaxation is given in the maximum age limit to SC/ST candidates while 7 years of relaxation is given to physically handicapped candidates.

Admission to the B.A. LLB (Hons.) course offered at HPU, Shimla is based on the marks obtained in 10+2 or equivalent examination followed by the counselling process. The merit list shall be prepared by the University Institute of Legal Studies, H.P. University.
