What students say about National Institute of Technology - [NIT]

Likes

  • I chose this course to gain practical exposure. The course curriculum is good, based on a practical approach and hands-on practice at the workshop.
  • Being new to college, I need to explore a lot about internships and the roles provided by companies.
  • There are very good placements in our college, National Institute of Technology Hamirpur. The highest package in college is 1.71 crore for CSE students. After degree, I am planning to do MS in USA. It is a good opportunity to get into this college.
  • ST and SC, PDW, it is good scholarship and it is so helpful for college. There will be no issues with the scholarship. The cost of each semester is around 62500, and there will also be hostel fees of around 40000 thousand.
  • The availability of books and research papers is quite impressive there. Lots of extracurricular activities, sports, and courses are conducted there.
  • The meal is good and it includes items such as paneer, pav bhaji, Chole bhature, pulses, snacks like samosa, and sweets like rasgulla.
  • A very good college in terms of campus infrastructure with the best library, admissions are done through JEE Main in the month of March.

Dislike

  • The curriculum is poor, outdated, and lacks emphasis on learning and acknowledging the subjects. The only focus is to rush through the curriculum without giving importance to linking, correlating, and expanding horizons. The assignment system is still outdated.
  • NIT Hamirpur does not provide internships except for civil engineering students. There is summer training available for civil engineering students within the college. Other students have to apply for internships in companies on their own.
  • Yes, hostels are provided within the campus with some minimal charges. Hostels are divided on a yearly basis, and rooms are shared with four students, which is very inconvenient. No one knows what will happen after corona.
  • Can we expect a government institution in India to be slow and lazy in every situation, not willing to help students?
