What students say about National Institute of Technology - [NIT]

Likes

  • The course curriculum is excellent, with research opportunities in Software Engineering, Computer Networks, Information Security, and Image Processing. Additionally, there are opportunities in Mobile Computing.
  • The college has an excellent internship program, and we are informed about it after completing our three-year program.
  • The job opportunities in my college are forever the best in Jharkhand, as well as in the northern region of India. Some multinational companies, such as HCl and Infosys, have also come here.
  • I received the OBC SCHOLARSHIP every year, and there were also many merit scholarships provided by companies in Jamshedpur itself.
  • They are awesome. They provide the required sports kits. The labs are excellent. There is no issue about it; all the facilities are there.
  • Well, let me tell you that the hostel facility of NIT JAMSHEDPUR is one of the best among all NITs.
  • I think its the best college in Jamshedpur. It has all the facilities that a student may require. It also has a bus facility which takes students to Bistupur Market every day. It has a dispensary located on the campus for health issues.

Dislike

  • The curriculum here is quite outdated and does not meet the recent company requirements. No one takes any initiative to improve the syllabus; it is blindly followed.
  • The company on campus is a weak point, especially for MCA students with not many opportunities.
  • For placements and internships, there is a training and placement cell that invites companies to visit our college to provide job offers.
  • Also, the network in the area is so bad that one might experience issues with making calls.
  • Labs are really the worst and old-fashioned, and lab technicians dont know how to teach.
  • There is a total of 13 hostels in college, among which 9 are for boys and 4 are for girls.
  • One bad thing is that college doesnt have a closed boundary, so sometimes local people interfere in campus life. College is outside of town, so the transportation facility is not good. College has its own bus service, but that is not enough.

Placement Experience:

The best part of this college is the placements. Awesome placement in non-core as well as the core. In this college, a wide number of visits like Atlassian, tata steel, Wipro, Amazon, etc. The highest package is 80lakhs and the average is 14lakhs. Approx out of every 100 students 94 got placed.

Remarks:

To get admission in colleges like NIT u need to qualify joint entrance examination mains(JEE) with a decent percentile of above 95 percentile and above so that u will secure a seat in NIT based on josaa counseling. If u belong to a category student u can get the with 92 percentile too.

Placement Experience:

In terms of placement, NIT Jamshedpur stands in the top 5 NITs. Overall 97% of students get placed. With 100% placement in ECE and CSE branches. Core branches like mechanical and electrical also have 98.9% and 95% placement respectively. Companies like Amazon, Infosys, Wipro, and Vedanta come. The highest package is 72.5 LPA offered to ECE students. The average package is 14.72LPA. I will go into the IT sector after getting the degree.

Remarks:

I qualified JEE main entrance exam. Eligibility is you should have completed your 12th class or you are appearing 12th class. Application form fees are 750 for general/OBC and 350 for Sc/St candidates. In fees, you get reservation benefits. No tuition fees for Sc/St students. Overall very smooth admission process.

Placement Experience:

Best thing about NIT JAMSHEDPUR is its placement statistics. 98 percent placement ratio. With overall 14.7 lpa package. In ECE and CSE branch 100 percent placement. The highest placement is 80 lpa. Best thing is that core branches and lower branches also has phenomenal placement stats.

Remarks:

The admission process was very smooth. I gave JEE main exam. Then through JOSAA counselling, I got into NIT Jamshedpur. You can find the application form on the official Jee main site. While filling out the form you get category benefits in form fees.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placement from 4 th year. Almost all companies visited our campus including Tata motors, TATA powers, TATA Steel, Atlassian, Oracle, Ola, Uber, Flipkart, etc. The highest package is 85 lakhs offered by Atlassian. The average package for the CSE branch is 27 lakhs, for ECE 20 lakhs, for Electrical it is 16 laks for mechanical it is 10 lakhs. Almost all students in our college get placed. My plan is to join DRDO after the completion of my degree.

Remarks:

My college takes admission on the basis of JEE Mains. So I am satisfied with the admission process. Just a student has to score well in JEE mains to get admitted here. You will get refreshments while your admission and also unlimited refreshment from stalls of different banks. The only problem is with your parents as our college does not provide a guest house for parents so they have to manage it on their own if they have to stay.

Placement Experience:

Placement is the main criterion for which we came to college other than to mingle and to have life support systems aka friends, so not drowning in emotions, let us get straight to the point, placements in NIT Jamshedpur are one of the best in India and among top 2 in the core sector as tata nagar or commonly called Jamshedpur is a hub of industries thanks to Tatas, our college is very near to the industrial area and often students get placed. Let's talk about the software sector, our cse department is one of the highest package-grabbing departments in the whole of India, and for this reason only, many people from foreign countries come to study at NIT JAMSHEDPUR. OUR Placement rate is close to 95% so much much much more than most of the colleges. My plans after the degree are to explore the whole world with my dream partner and live a life worth living.

Remarks:

I took JEE mains and secured sufficient marks to get admission into prestigious institutions in INDIA. I found NIT Jamshedpur through a YouTube video and got attracted to it, filled in my counseling choices in josaa and csab, and got selected here at NIT Jamshedpur. You can find the application form and details about fees and dates at the official site of NTA, the national testing agency. The admission process is, in my opinion, working perfectly but there are many parameters that can be changed like the verification part and the prediction of first-round choices, accuracy is lacking there.
