Ques. Which one is better IIIT Bangalore Mtech CS or ME CS from BITS Pilani Campus?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 19 Jul 21

Ans. Having friends from both IIIT Bangalore and BITS Pilani, I might be able to answer your question. Every one of them agrees upon BITS Pilani being slightly better than IIIT Bangalore. Here is what they have to say about it: Since BITS Pilani was established years back, it has helped it gain a large network of alumni. At present, it is considered as accomplished as various other old IITs. IIIT Bangalore is situated at a very favorable location that helps it gain several advantages. It's considered to be better in terms of the peer group and the system it is usually associated with. The placements, however, at both of the institutes are somewhat considered to be on almost at the same scale. BITS Pilani, on the other hand, helps students in acquiring several direct internship opportunities. That is a major upside. They did not fail to achieve good placements even during the pandemic. The workload that you have to commonly be part of is quite very similar to what students generally see in the old IITs. You will have the liberty to choose the preferable elective from a pile of courses, unlike other institutes. In fact, you can opt to take up any subject from the humanities stream as well. Here is a comparison of the placement drive (CSE) between both of the institutes, Institute BITS, Pilani IIIT, Bangalore Placement Percentage 100% 93% Average CTC INR 20 LPA INR 23.7 LPA Highest CTC INR 50 LPA INR 45.6 LPA Top Recruiting Companies Cognizant, Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, LinkedIn, HSBC, RBL, HUL, Wipro Limited Apple, Analog Devices, Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Cisco, Big Basket, IIRS, VE, Givaudon In addition to that, BITS Pilani comes with a better brand value, unlike many others. Some of my friends were usually told about this while they were beginning to apply for several foreign universities or were getting freshly associated with numerous top organizations.Read more

Ques. Which should I choose among IIIT Lucknow, IIIT Bangalore or IIIT Delhi?

● Top Answer By Admin on 05 Jul 21

Ans. This answer to your question is quite subjective. Among IIIT Lucknow, IIIT Bangalore, and IIIT Delhi, you should opt for an institute that is providing you with the subject of your interest. All these institutes are reputed ones in this league. Despite being a newly established college IIIT Lucknow is at par with the top institutes. You should evaluate certain aspects before you opt for any of these institutes. Such aspects include: Branch: IIIT Bangalore offers CS and ECE programs. Whereas IIIT Lucknow offers IT and CS programs. AI is in high demand in the industries and as of this year, IIIT Lucknow has included a new branch of CSAI (Btech in CS with specialization in artificial intelligence). B.Tech programs of 4 years are offered at IIIT Lucknow and IIIT Delhi. IIIT Bangalore is the only institute that offers an integrated program of 5 years and provides both B. Tech and M. Tech degrees to the eligible students at the end of their course of 5 years. However, M. Tech is not deemed as useful during placements and is considered a waste of a year. The majority of the companies prefer B. Tech graduates over dual graduates. Course curriculum: All of these institutes have a tremendous course curriculum. Their curriculum aims at fulfilling modern industrial needs and enhancing the skills of their students. Placements: Although IIIT Lucknow is a newly established college, its placements are at par with IIIT Delhi and IIIT Bangalore (old colleges). Placement statistics of IIIT Lucknow suggests that it is better than many others IIITs. Its first batch (2015-19) witnessed 98% placements with an 11.37 LPA average package. The second batch (2016-2020) witnessed 100% placement with an 18.42 LPA average package. Coding Culture: ACM-ICPC is one of the biggest coding contests at present. A team from IIIT Lucknow secured 9th position in the regional round of ACM-ICPC and were qualified for the Asia finals thus, outperforming all the IIITs. The web developers at this institute are remarkable as well. Moreover, IIIT Lucknow consists of a Github Campus Expert. Their numbers are quite less in the entire world. So, consider all these points and either of the three according to your convenience.Read more

Ques. I am getting IT branch in NIT Surathkal and CS branch in IIIT Bangalore, which one should I opt?

● Top Answer By Admin on 23 Jun 21

Ans. Among CS in IIIT Bangalore and IT in NIT Surathkal, IIIT Bangalore is the better choice, considering the placement statistics such as average and highest package offered in the institute. I have a few friends at IIIT B and they vouch for the institute. Here is why you should choose IIIT Bangalore. In the year 2019, the overall average package offered to students in integrated M.Tech, M.Tech, and MS was Rs. 17 LPA. Even, the maximum domestic package offered to students was Rs. 54 LPA, which is excellent. The median package cumulatively was Rs. 15 LPA. If only integrated M.Tech students are considered in IIIT Bangalore, the average and median package are even higher than Rs. 17 and Rs. 15 LPA. In recent years, these packages have increased too. The condition of faculty and curriculum is much better at IIIT Bangalore. Even there is more provision for research at IIIT Bangalore, than in NIT Surathkal. The location of IIIT Bangalore is much better than that of NIT Surathkal. It is located in the heart of the Electronic City of Bangalore, surrounded by IT firms all around. Along with a lot of advantages, there a few shortcomings of IIIT Bangalore. You will need to work very hard in the institute, in order to score well. The sports, fest, and other extracurricular activities are not that developed in IIIT Bangalore. The campus of IIIT Bangalore is small but that is enough considering the small number of intakes in the institute. Therefore, considering the factors stated above, CS at IIIT Bangalore is definitely a better choice for students.Read more

Ques. If I am interested in Programming should I choose ECE at IIIT Allahabad or IIIT Bangalore, if yes which one should I prefer IIIT A or B? (Of course I am not getting CSE in good college)

● Top Answer By Sandip Pal on 19 Jun 21

Ans. If you are interested in programming, you can definitely go for IIIT Allahabad and IIIT Bangalore. According to my friends studying there, they both have an excellent coding culture. The points below give a brief overview of the present coding culture of IIIT Bangalore, which will increase the level of interest for a programming geek in the institute. In IIIT Bangalore, there are two functional autonomous student bodies- Club for Algorithms Maths and Programming (CAMP) and Zense. The CAMP focuses on competitive coding, which is for participation in ACM ICPC, also known as the Olympics of programming. This club has been operational since 2017 and works under the esteemed guidance of instructors of Data Structure and Algorithms. IIIT Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Allahabad are the only IIITs who were successful in entering the world finals of ICPC. Zense focuses more on open source contribution and software development. It helps prepare for GSoC (Google Summer of Code) and RGSoC (Rails Girls Summer of Code), and also for other national and international level hackathons. Some of the hackathons that Zense students have succeeded in include Wipro Digital Hackathon, Civic Hackathonby Janaagraha Foundation, IIM Bangalore policy hackathon, etc. Therefore, even being in a nascent stage, students from IIIT Bangalore enjoy the top-level programming culture and so, there are huge scopes for such geeks in the institute.Read more

Ques. Which IIIT is better, IIIT B or IIIT A?

● Top Answer By Admin on 17 May 21

Ans. IIIT B and IIITA are two excellent institutes for engineering in CS and IT. Some of the most important factors are curriculum or quality of education, packages, infrastructure, faculty, peers, coding or learning culture, and industry connections and internships offered.  A brief overview of each of the above aspects is given below in points. Infrastructure: The campus size of IIIT Allahabad is much larger when compared to the size of IIIT Bangalore campus. Due to the small size of IIIT Bangalore, there was a lack of lab facilities, other educational requirements, and sports areas inside the campus. Presently, there is a second academic building inside the campus of IIIT B, but the overall campus area is the same as before. Packages: The placements of B.Tech in IIITA are excellent and are quite comparable to the placements given in IIIT Hyderabad and IITs. On the other hand, the integrated M.Tech in IIIT B is quite a newer course but is having excellent offers in placement, similar to M.Tech students from IIIT-H and old IITs. IIIT B students from M.Tech have received several offers from MNCs like Google, Microsoft, IBM, Intel, Flipkart, Amazon, etc. Faculty: IIIT B is a clear winner with industry experts faculty with national and international fame. Almost all of them are Ph.D. holders. In IIIT A, the faculties are also excellent but, compared to those of IIIT B, they are somewhat backward inexperienced. Coding or learning culture: There is an excellent coding culture in IIIT A, where students understand the need to learn competitive coding. Students from IIIT A sometimes override the students from IIIT B in terms of coding skills. IIIT B students get access to numerous hackathons, being in Bangalore. These hackathons are always beneficial for students to showcase their skills in coding and software development. Campus life: In IIIT A, there is an enhanced campus life as compared to IIIT B, considering the fests and clubs in the institutes. IIIT B has a sports fest and a cultural fest throughout the year only. These are the most important points of comparison to make a decision among the two institutes which a candidate can look into and choose according to his/her own preference.Read more

      Admission :

You have to secure a decent gate score to get admitted into masters here. The cutoff varies from time to time In 2016 its 600 In 2017 its 618 gate score and no interview process as of now. For getting admission into Imtech course which is an integrated course of Btech + mtech you should get a decent mains score.. After your +2 the cutoff is around 200 as of now.. The notification was released in April and we should fill it online and 3-4 rounds of Admissions will be there. As the rounds goes on the cutoff will be decreasing.

College Is very good in all aspects only thing that bothers is its bit expensive otherwise everything is super fine. The management is approachable and any inconvenience caused is rectified in quick time and very nice place to learn, grow and develop.
