Manipal University MCA Eligibility Criteria
Candidates seeking admissions to MCA at Manipal University must satisfy the below mentioned eligibility criteria:
- Candidates must have passed BCA/ BSc Computer Science or IT/ bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institute.
- Candidates with BSc/ B.Com/ BA from a recognized institute with Mathematics at 10+2 level or graduation are also eligible to apply.
- Candidates must have scored at least 50% aggregate marks in last qualifying examinations.

Manipal University MCA Admission Process
Manipal University admits candidates on the basis of his/her performance in last qualifying examinations. Candidates who fulfill the above mentioned eligibility criteria shall only be considered for further admission process.
- Foreign/ NRI/ NRI Sponsored candidates are admitted on a first-cum-first-serve merit basis, subject to their performance in bachelor’s degree.
- Candidates having foreign qualifications should also produce equivalency certificates from AIU, New Delhi.
- Shortlisted candidates shall be required to produce valid documents for verification purposes only after which they will be granted final admissions.

Program Structure
- Course Structure: The MCA programme comprises core courses, elective courses, seminars and project work as a major part of the curriculum. An entire last semester is dedicated to the project work to enhance the technical skills of the candidates. Candidates are required to choose elective courses from second semester onwards as per their interest.
- Credits: The MCA programme is a credit based course which carries a total of 77 credits. The credit distribution pattern is as follows:

- 1st year carries a total of 44 credits as 22 credits are assigned to both semesters separately.
- 3rd semester carries 14 credits whereas the project work of 4th semester carries 12 credits.
- Core courses are assigned credits ranging from 3-4.
- Reservation: Out of the total seats available for MCA program, 15% of its seats are reserved for international students including Foreign citizens, Person of Indian Origin (PIO) Card Holders, Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), Non-Resident Indian (NRI) and NRI-sponsored students.
