What students say about Kerala University - [KU]

Likes

  • Of course, they are good enough. The faculties were just amazing because the way they teach is fabulous. We understand everything.
  • During these internships, students have the opportunity to use skills learned during the Fresh Future Job Readiness sessions, and they receive on-the-job training and feedback from their employers.
  • I did not get the chance to learn more about the opportunities and placements of the university.
  • Many scholarships are provided by the government and the university to promote students.
  • The college has a very good infrastructure, including well-maintained classrooms, washrooms, offices, canteen, and library.
  • As mentioned earlier, there are separate hostels for men, women, and researchers. The buildings and rooms are satisfying and great.
  • I need to build up some space. Upgrade the college infrastructure for a better teacher-student relationship and more friendly students. Our college provides the best thing it can give to us, and I am proud to be a part of it.

Dislike

  • Students are left to fend for themselves in search of jobs, especially during the pandemic when jobs are hard to come by.
  • College management will always be considered as bad in any students view, as they wont provide funds as needed and would object to most of our needs and ideas. However, overall, management is not so bad.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The Chemistry faculty in my college was so good and very capable. They take care of all the students individually. Especially when it comes to Laboratory classes, the teachers along with the lab assistants were always available and very supportive. I choose Chemistry because I love Laboratory experiments and Chemicals. And my interest was piqued after joining the college. That's Why I did a Master's in Chemistry too. For 40 students there were 10 teachers including 2 tutors and 4 lab assistants for our batch. All of our teachers were Ph.D. holders and University toppers. We're provided with a detailed Curriculum and a list of textbooks for reference. We make our notes with the help of teachers after every lecture, they help us to make notes and clear our doubts. We were in a semester batch. And had exams every 6 months. The questions were out of the syllabus and often difficult to get a high score. You need 1.5/4 to pass.

Remarks:

Qualification for this course was Plus Two in Biology Science. The course admission was based on a Higher Secondary Mark and Additional points were added if you applied for reserved seats. Extra points are available for Disabled students and Kids of Ex- Military service officers. The application is completely online and You have to fill out the form and can select the College name from the list given. Application varies every year. Application submission dates will be announced after the Results of Higher secondary school is out. The admission based on Plus Two marks only is not very desirable for me. Kids who don't have any interest in a particular subject will also apply for Degree courses and drop out in the middle. This cause the other students who are genuinely interested in the course to not get a chance to get admitted to their Favourite colleges. So, if they do a separate Eligibility test for every course and a detailed interview, then we may find students with a genuine interest in the sub.
