MG University Admission

MG University UG, PG, and Doctoral programs in the disciplines of Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Management etc. Admission to UG programs are based on merit of the candidates in the qualifying exam. For UG courses in the MG University Affiliated Colleges, admissions are based on the Centralised Allotment Process (CAP) adhering to all the norms. Admissions to PG program offered by the MG University Departments/Schools are based on the Common Admission Test (CAT) whereas PG programs in the affiliated colleges are effected through Centralised Allotment Process (CAP). MG University offers admission to MBA courses on the basis of MAT/XAT/CAT/GMAT/CMAT scores followed by GD and PI. Admission to the PhD course is based on UGC NET/CSIR NET/ GATE examination scores.            

MG University Application Process

The procedure of both registering and admission is conducted in online mode only. Candidates must visit the official website and follow the given steps for the application process:

  • Visit the official admission portal: https://admission.mgu.ac.in/
  • Click on “Apply Now” option given under “Common Admission Test” Option.
  • Now click on the “Apply Online” Option.
  • Register yourself using valid details.
  • Now Login using your credentials.
  • Fill out the application form.
  • Pay the Application Fees.
  • Submit the form and take the printout for future use.
  • Appear for the MGU CAT exam.
  • Admission will be provided based on the rank list prepared based on CAT scores.

How to check the Results?

Candidates can go through the following steps to check their results from the Official website of Mahatma Gandhi University:

  • Visit the official website: www.mgu.ac.in.
  • Now Click on “Examination” option provided on the Top of Home page.

MG University (MGU) Campus has provided a lot of facilities for the students by building a technology-friendly environment in various locations inside the campus. The provided facilities are:

  • Library: MG University consists of a digital library made with automation Software Harness. The library does avail eBooks, podcasts, audio, and video for improving the learning capabilities of the students. The academic and official documents, transcripts, media etc are accessible anywhere, anytime with website and mobile devices through the Digital Content Management system for the libraries.

MG University Scholarships

MG University provides its students with a scholarship facility (which is up to 100%) for meritorious students. Some of the scholarship details are provided below:

  • Fee waiver up to 20% is given to students whose annual family income is less than INR 2.5 Lakhs
  • Girl candidates who opted for BCA Course only and are having an annual family income below INR 2.5 Lakhs are given up to a 100% scholarship.
  • Sports scholarships are provided to students who have outstanding performance. Up to INR 4000 to INR 300 is given as the scholarship amount.
  • Prof P.C Menon Endowment scholarship is also offered to the student who is 1st rank holder in subject history in 2nd year (as optional subject) and the student as 1st rank holder in the final year of M.A (history).
  • MGU gives academic scholarships. Given below is the table for scholarship amounts as per courses:

Ques. Can a candidate apply to an MBA course at MG University after qualifying for XAT?

Ans. MG University accepts National Level Entrances like XAT/CAT/MAT/CMAT or its equivalent. Candidates qualifying for either of these Entrance exams will be considered eligible for selection in the MBA course.

Ques. What is the review of MG University?

Ans. M G University is UGC & NAAC Accredited. It has secured 31st position by NIRF, 2023 in universities category. MGU offers various UG and PG courses along with research-oriented or doctorate courses. The fee structure is not very high to pursue the courses. MGU also offers courses in Management. Diploma courses in three different specializations are available at MGU. Overall, it is considered a good University for higher studies.

Ques. What are the criteria to apply for PhD after qualifying for UGC NET JRF?

Ans. Candidates need to qualify for UGC NET JRF or its equivalent exams to become eligible for the PhD Course. Candidates who have successfully qualified for the UGC NET JRF can fill up the application form for the PhD course. Candidates will then be called for Interview and Group Discussion Rounds.

Ques. Is there any option to pay the Fees in instalments at MG University?

Ans. The course fees of the majority of courses are quite low. However, there is no option provided by the University for paying for courses in Instalments. The course fee has to be paid at the beginning of the year as per the University rules.
