NIT Calicut, founded in 1961, is one of India's oldest NITs. The Engineering Institute is made up of ten departments and three schools. It is a public technical university and an institute of national importance governed by the NIT Act passed by the Parliament of India. Until 2002, it was known as Calicut Regional Engineering College (CREC). The campus is located on Kozhikode-Mukkam Road, 22 kilometers (14 miles) north of Kozhikode. At NIT Calicut, 13 departments collectively offer 52 courses in the UG, PG, and Research levels. NIT Calicut provides four-year BTech and BArch programs at the undergraduate level. NIT Calicut Admission

 NIT Calicut's Admission to more than 60 UG, PG, and PhD programs is primarily based on national-level entrance tests. Among the programs provided at NIT Calicut, B.Tech is regarded as the flagship course, with ten specialties. Candidates for UG level BTech & B.Arch admissions at NIT Calicut must take the JEE Main examination and participate in the JoSAA counseling for final seat allotments. JOSAA counseling for B.Tech admissions often takes place in July/August. The NIT Calicut B.Tech program has a total course fee of INR 2.08 Lakhs.
