A place to kick-start to your career.

Hostel Facilities:

Every one has their own room allocated (for fourth years). Wifi services are available 24/7. We are offered meals at a reasonable price. Corridors are cleaned everyday and maintained well. You can get your room cleaned whenever you want by asking the maids.

Hostel Fee : INR 60000 per year

Campus Life:

We have a good social life here. Two fests are conducted namely Tathava (Tech fest, mostly in September or October) and Ragam (cultural fest). We also have may clubs like HVG, IEEE, Dance, Music etc., NCC and NSS are also there. We are encouraged to participate in the sports, all the equipment required is available here.

This College is very good for placements of the students in big companies.

Hostel Facilities:

Hostels are very good here with a great infrastructure. One room is given to every two students. The quality of the mess is also very good here and students are free to eat in any of the mess they like. Registration for the hostels is done at the time of joining.

Hostel Fee : INR 80000 per year

Campus Life:

The annual cultural fest conducted here is RAGAM and is conducted in the month of March. Tathva is the technical fest conducted here in the month of October. Sports and extracurricular activities are also encouraged here.

Placements are very good here with a very good package

Hostel Facilities:

Hostel facilities are very good with good infrastructure. 1 Room is given for every 2 students provided with one fan and table and chair with 2 cupboards. Mess food is also good here and students can eat in any mess they like. Registration for the hostel is done at the time of joining.

Campus Life:

RAGAM is the cultural fest conducted here in the month of March and TATHVA is the technical fest conducted in the month of October. A huge central library is available for the students. Sports and other co-curriculum activities are also encouraged. There are many technical clubs and cultural clubs.

Perfect college

Campus Life:

Firstly I give my college a 10/10 rating regarding the fests. At top music concerts, musical directors were invited as guests. I enjoyed a lot in every single fest conducted by our college. I'm thankful for the management of its. Classrooms are also adjustable. Social groups, clubs, extra activities, sports, gym everything are available.

nit calicut review about mtech

Hostel Facilities:

so I am doing mtech I am living in a single room and the quality of the mess id okay type as it is located in Kerala so the northern part of food is made very rarely. the registration process is very simple when you come to nitc the first time then you have submitted the hostel form to administration and they will allot room on that basis.

Campus Life:

campus life is great as there will be a cultural fest in which this year Shreya gosal came and a technical fest is held every month in the different club that is run by students. the library is open 24 hrs so you can available books anytime

Balanced college review

Hostel Facilities:

In first year, there are 4 people in a room, but you will get managed to it after sometime. Meal quality is just fine and food is eatable. Hostel process is done offload with some security fees. It is affordable.

Campus Life:

Ragam is the cultural fest and Tathva is the technical fest conducted here every year. There is a big central library with most of the books available. There are many groups and clubs in college, which are based on the interest of people.

One of my friends once shared his experiences considering the Hostel of NIT Calicut, whether it is good or bad or anything, but the student must be prepared to incident all kind of things at the time of staying in the hostel. There are 4 people in one room, specifically in the first year, second year, and third year. However, it is fine and can be accepted. The hostel rooms of NIT Calicut are prepared for 3 accommodations only, that in a room, 3 students can stay; there are 3 beds with proper spacing in the room, 3 cupboards, and charging points. My friend told me that the college administration might try to bring all the students very close to each other to increase unity. The reason behind this thinking is that 4 students are staying in one single room, although the accommodation is for 3 students in each room. You might be given a basic crash course regarding the student's body language. This will help you to understand the language spoken by hostel guards and managers as they were from Kerala and speak in Malayalam. Thus, the students from North India and Andhrapradesh (Telegu) must be ready to face this issue in the hostel. There is always an electricity problem is a hostel, and a student has to use their own mobile data to perform their academics and assignment. Because no electricity means no internet, no fan, no light, and this is very common in the hostel of NIT Calicut. Students may face 2 nights without electricity....Read more

Few of my friends attend NIT Calicut and they were able to give me some information regarding the hostel on campus. More than half of the hostel buildings appear to be old and rustic. They were built about 50 years ago but they still serve the basic required standard. Apart from your own room, everything else is cleaned almost every day. You will have to clean your room on your own. The first-year students are allocated rooms based on a 4 sharing system. For the second-year students who reside in hostel C, one room is allocated to three students. For those of the students who reside in Mega, the rooms are allocated on a two-sharing system. For third-year students residing in hostels B and C, one room is shared by three students. In the fourth year, usually, single rooms are allocated but due to renovation in hostel E, some of the rooms are allocated on a two-sharing basis. The food at the messes is sometimes good and sometimes bad. If you are willing to spend some extra money, you can make up for it. Internet connectivity is good. On some days the download speed goes up to 12 megabytes per second. From the second year onwards, there is no restriction imposed on boys regarding entry/exit time. Girls have permission to stay out till 9 pm. NIT Calicut hostels are good in comparison to many engineering institutions in the country. NIT Calicut offers decent hostel accommodations. The rooms are double or triple sharing. The institute offers basic amenities such as beds, cupboards, and tables. Hostel rooms have adequate lighting and ventilation. Bathrooms are shared by several rooms. Rooms and washrooms are cleaned regularly. The mess facilities are good. Ques. Is hostel compulsory in NIT calicut for postgraduate students ?

No, staying in the NIT Calicut hostel for a PG student is not at all compulsory. The administration will ask you to be available throughout the day on the campus and staying in the hostel comes under the residential program but it's not compulsory. No one can force you to avail of hostels. Staying in the other hostels or PG would be costlier and the hostels at NIT Calicut are supposed to be cheaper. There are a number of rooms with AC within 150 meters from the campus in or near Koyyapuram Apartments. Therefore, it depends on your will whether to stay in a hostel or anywhere outside the campus and no one can interfere in your decision....Read more

One of my friends had studied at NIT Calicut and here are some facts he shared about the college. These might answer your question. The students of M.Tech at NIT Calicut are provided with double sharing rooms in the mega hostels and MBA hostels. The hostel rooms are allotted on the basis of first come first serve. The hostel is well equipped with all the basic amenities. You will not be provided with an internet connection and have to arrange it yourselves. The mega hostel is not very far from the campus however the MBA hostel is quite far from the main campus. However, the institute has arranged transportation facilities for the students for travelling from hostel to campus every 30 minutes. It would be recommended to talk to the current student of this college, as they can give you a better picture of the current scenario....Read more

NITC MBA hostel is one of the newest hostels on the campus. The MBA hostel is exclusively for boys, and the rooms are large enough for two people. Each room has two beds (no mattress), two tables, two chairs, two almirah, one fan, one tube light, and two windows. For every two rooms, there is a shared bathroom. The hostel also has a good laundry service. The mess is close to the hostel. Overall, it's a very nice hostel with good facilities and lots of greenery. The hostel has the capacity to accommodate around 300 students, including visiting faculty. A separate ultra-modern hostel facility for girls is also available. Ques. How is the hostel accommodation for 1st-year M.Tech students at NIT Calicut?

Hostels in NIT C for the PG students are not good. Students are allotted to the Professor's Apartment in their first tear. The apartment consists of a flat which has 3 rooms, kitchen and 1 hall i.e. equivalent to a 3 BHK flat. But the number of students in each flat depends on the number of rooms each flat possesses. Along with that, some students get the golden opportunity of residing in halls or even in the kitchens. The toilets according to the number of students are always less and then there is always a queue outside the bathroom gate in the morning. There are a total of 14 to 16 students per flat. The journey from apartments to college is like going on a trek. Now they have started a bus service. This was the scenario of the first year and for the second year students, the scenario is a bit different. The second-year students are mostly accommodated in the MBA hostels which have toilets attached with the rooms but are far from the previous apartments where you were living in the first year. Wi-Fi is available on the campus and works well for the new buildings and hostels. At the time of joining they will tell you that the new hostels are under construction and will be ready to move soon.
