MBA Life

Course Curriculum Overview:

In the postgraduate program around 650 seats are available. Of these, around 130 are for IPM students who pursue their undergraduate in IIM Indore via the IPMAT entrance exam. The entire batch is divided into 8 sections for convenience. All the faculties are highly qualified and helpful enough to clear the doubts. Those who have doubts can meet faculties taking appointments. The term exams are a bit hectic. In a year there are 3 terms. In each term for most of the subjects, surprise quizzes are taken for which the mail will come just 1 hr before the exam. End-term and mid-term exams are informed beforehand. IIM Indore uses a relative grade point system, so your grade point of yours not only depends on your performance but also on the overall performance of your section students.

Firstly, ask yourself, why you wish to pursue IPM at IIM Indore. If you are interested in management but are coming from a not so financially well background, you should not consider IPM for management. But if you really want to pursue that particular course, you can opt for it. You can acquire a loan from a bank without putting up much of a security. Furthermore, those debts will be your responsibility, make sure to repay them. If you are good at academics right now, enroll in any graduating programme that you enjoy or that is your second choice. Look into B.Com and BBA as rational choices, and if your interest persists, try to get into FPM or IIM-I after your Bachelor's degree. IPM isn't easy to get into. It has one of the lowest returns on investment (ROI) among the top 20 or 30 B-schools. Your total course fee may be over 30 lakhs, but an MBA will cost 14 lakhs, and you will gain a superior understanding of management if you choose to pursue it. ...Read more

The placement opportunities for an Executive MBA at IIM Indore or In fact any other IIM are very limited. They depend on the batch itself and may be good or bad depending on the current batch profile and expectations. Moreover, people don’t pursue EMBA to get placed in a high salary package. They already have a job with a high package. What they are looking for is an enhancement of their managerial skills and the IIM tag. So I will not recommend you leave your high-paying job and pursue EMBA especially if you are looking for a better CTC. Not even other B Schools will get you a high package right off the bat. But if you are still adamant about pursuing the program you may take a study leave I suggest. An MBA helps you in the long run and not instantly. Coming from a financially challenging background, it is highly unlikely that you are interested in management purely out of interest. Now, you can think about IPM if you want to study management. Banks will grant loans to you without requiring much in the way of security. Additionally, since those loans will be your responsibility, your parents won't be responsible if you later become unable to make your payments due to unforeseeable circumstances. Now for the next thing. Since you haven't specified your level of knowledge and skills, If you are currently brilliant, my recommendation is that you enroll in any graduate program that you like or would be your second choice. Look into B.Com and BBA as they can be sensible options, and if your interest still holds after earning your bachelor's degree, try to get into FPM or IIM Indore. IPM isn't simple to get into, and if you stop and think about it, you can get along just fine without it too. TLDR: Of the top 20 or 30 B-schools, IPM has one of the lowest ROIs.
