Batch 2022 B.Tech, Chemical EngineeringSeptember 2, 2020
Ranking of the college was one of the reason it always maintained it, recommendation by my friends and the focus on a particular field of engineering into depth, the alumni of the college are well known people in india like Mr. Ambani are the factors which drove me towards choosing this college.
Placement Experience :
companies like reliance, ongc, panorama, Infosys are the common companies which visit every year, apart from that the placement process is such that there should be a maintenance of atleast 7.3 pointer in order to apply for placement procedure in every semester.
The students have a very huge potential. However, lack of resources and parochial outlook towards technical education has depleted the quality of engineers produced from the college. The college is below par for a very active student. Hence I would recommend future students to try other options before choosing this college. I would specially like to mention people coming from metropolitan cities. Kindly, avoid taking admission in this college as it will surely hamper your outlook and would not challenge you at all. Instead it would frustrate you over its conventional way of functioning.
As our course is unique and interesting thats feel us positive. We have good faculties. Regarding academic we are doing well but thier is need of improvement. We need to improve in extracurricular activities and need to anything for student body activities
Ques. Why is ICT, Mumbai not converted to IIEST whereas other colleges like CUSAT are?
● Top Answer By Keshav Jindal on 29 Jul 21
Ans.CUSAT has yet to receive an IIEST upgrade. The work is still on, and funds have been allocated to strengthen the infrastructure in the next few years. Being an ex-student of the college, I'm not sure when it'll be upgraded.
Many people at the college, as far as I know, do not want it to be upgraded to an IIEST.
There's a lot of politics involved there.
Also not sure why certain people at the institute don't want to take advantage of it because being an IIEST has a lot of advantages.
To answer your question, despite being an excellent college, the Ananda Krishnan committee has not recommended ICT Mumbai for conversion to an IIEST. Let me give you a list of potential causes:
It is a modest institute in terms of campus size (16 acres), however, there is a need for more space for future expansion.
This is one of IIEST's requirements (a lot of space for further improvement of infrastructure and expansion).
Standard engineering courses such as CSE, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Metallurgy, and Mining are not offered.
The institute is known for Chemical Engineering.
The institute offers Bachelor’s degrees in B. Pharma, Food Engineering and Technology, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology, Polymer Engineering and Technology, Surface Coating Technology, Oils, Oleochemicals and Surfactants Technology, etc.Read more
Ques. Which is better for Chemical Engineering, NIT Rourkela or ICT Mumbai?
● Top Answer By Admin on 08 Apr 21
Ans.My suggestion will be the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai. The reasons are mentioned below.
It is solely dedicated to chemical engineering, unlike NIT Rourkela.
It is famous for producing brilliant chemical engineers for years now.
It has location benefits as Maharashtra and Gujarat are home to many industries. This helps in easy internship opportunities and placements also.
Many good companies and even PSUs participate in the campus placement drive. Even if you have low CGPA points, you will get hired if you do well at the interview.
The professors are the best in their respective domains. They also have good connections in the industry. They can help you get placed in any industry with just one letter.
Chemical engineering is a part of many departments in NIT Rourkela or any other NIT but ICT Mumbai specializes in it. Hope it helps.Read more
Ques. Which college is better between NIT and ICT Mumbai for chemical engineering?
● Top Answer By Sapna Malik on 28 Jan 21
Ans.ICT Mumbai wins this battle. It is one of the best-known colleges in India for chemical engineering. The table below shows the rankings for ICT Mumbai:
Starting from experienced faculty to great learning experience, placement rate is commendable. An average package deal for a chemical engineering student from ICT Mumbai is around 5 lakhs, which is pretty good. Also, several chemical industries and companies pay frequent visits to the campus.
A friend of mine is an ex student ICT Mumbai. Here are the reasons why ICT Mumbai is better than an NIT:
ICT, as an institute, strictly concentrates on chemical engineering. The chemical engineers passed out from this institute add-up to its reputation and good word.
In terms of location, it is situated in the middle of industries from both Mumbai and Gujrat on either side. It will be convenient for the student to get himself/herself an internship in either of the industries or get a job during the placement session.
In terms of faculty, the teachers appointed are themselves specialists in the department of chemical engineering. Also, they have a good connection with multiple industries.
Therefore, ICT Mumbai is the most favorable choice.
As for NIT, it depends on which NIT one is mentioning. If they are referring to NIT Rourkela, Warangal, Tirchi, Surathkal then they are good. The rest of the NITs aren’t up to the mark.Read more
Ques. Is ICT Mumbai better than the computer of COEP?
● Top Answer By Shivani Tiwari on 28 Jan 21
Ans.Chemical Engineering and computer science are two completely different subjects, even though they belong to one broad stream of Engineering. The student needs to decide first your stream of specialization, which course they are interested to study. If your answer is chemical engineering then ICT Mumbai is the best option.
There should be three solid reasons behind a student selecting ICT Mumbai, which are:
The quality of education, faculty, and placements is on par with the IITs. The ICT Mumbai campus is known for its lively culture along with the organization of multiple technical and cultural fests.
A student will enjoy an out-and-out exposure, gaining theoretical knowledge in class and simultaneously putting them into practice during their practical ventures.
The placement rate in ICT Mumbai is good, the only set-back is that it is restricted to chemical engineering only.
If a student has decided to study chemical engineering and his following plans are along the lines of the reasons mentioned above, then ICT Mumbai is his/her place to be.
ICT Mumbai is only best in chemical engineering, not computer science. Similarly, COEP is the best for computer science and not chemical engineering. Therefore, the student should get a surety on the subject they want to pursue and then go to the college that is best for that particular stream.Read more
Ques. Which is better for chemical engineering, ISM Dhanbad or ICT Mumbai?
● Top Answer By Savi Sharma on 28 Jan 21
Ans.ICT Mumbai is a better option for chemical engineering. A friend of mine recommended ICT Mumbai due to certain major reasons listed below:
ICT Mumbai has a history of providing consultancy to several industries. They are provided with much-needed solutions.
Being a student of ICT Mumbai will give you a chance to gain theoretical knowledge as well as practical experience. ICT Mumbai will provide the students with practical and operational knowledge in abundance.
The placement scenario is also good, the students will be interviewed and recruited by core companies.
A student needs to understand and remember that chemical engineering doesn't account for chemistry. The students/engineers from this branch of science are expected to invent and design machines that will be capable of producing products with certain specifications.
The product should guarantee the safety of the personal, equipment, and the environment at large, the product should be compatible with the utmost and proper utilization of resources.
The inference of engineering knowledge into practical knowledge is what will make a student irreplaceable. This can be achieved through practical experiences, troubleshooting, and operational experience, all of which are available in Mumbai.
Therefore, the final choice should be ICT Mumbai for pursuing chemical engineering. Here is a presentation of some of the factual information:
Average salary package (2020)
>4.5LPA AND <16.5LPA
>9LPA AND <43LPA
Rs. 85,350 (for the first year)
ICT Mumbai is better than ISM Dhanbad from every aspect. The faculty is well read and has ample domain knowledge. They try their level best to help students with their doubts. I hope the information provided above helps.Read more
