Likes
- The department is the best to get in the limelight under professors, and in the Chemical Engineering department, we have the best of all.
- The campus is in the city, so the connectivity to the station and airport is good.
- Placement season starts in the 3rd year, and all the good companies come for recruitment.
- Most of the students got scholarships, and those students who dont have scholarships can get a loan from Canara Bank or SBI, which are inside the campus of VNIT.
- The labs of this college are very good; the instruments are also well-maintained and in good condition.
- Many people say that if you are in college and not living in a hostel, your life is in vain, and they are correct.
- Management is very good; it is a fantastic college for any student looking to build a career.
Dislike
- The architecture course is too tough, and at some point, it seems not even worth it because, in the end, we dont even get proper placements, and the work we require to do is paid too little with not enough to fulfill our needs.
- Internship opportunities are plentiful for CSE students, but they are limited for non-CSE students.
- There are very few placements in our college for architecture, and the job prospects for students are very limited. Despite working really hard, students do not get a good platform, and the salary offered is too low compared to the workload demanded by the firms.
- The loan facility was offered to one of my classmates because he was not financially strong enough to pay the fees at once. He was asked to submit some documents and was helped by the college committee.
- We faced the issue of students falling ill due to poor quality food in our mess.
- The food quality in the mess was poor, and despite repeated complaints, no action was taken.

Placement Experience:
From the 7th semester onwards students are eligible for placements. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, TCS, and the core companies for every branch would come for placements every year. The highest package for the CS branch this year was 66 LPA CTC, and the average was 22 LPA. Approx. 97% percent of students got placed in a good company. I also want to get a high-paying job after my degree.
Remarks:
Eligibility of getting admission into this college is only through the JEE Mains examination in India and through the DASA quota for abroad students. The dates and schedule of the exam are available on JEE mains 2023 website. Your rank in the examination should be between 30000 to 37000 all over India, reservations are also available for the categories which are available on the internet. Improvement in the admission process should be implemented in a way that non-category students are facing issues in getting higher branches, and everything will be done through JOSAA Counseling held after the results, details available on the JOSAA website 2023.
Placement Experience:
Students are eligible for campus placement from the 7th semester onwards. They can enroll themselves through our TnP department and further will get to sit in the placement cycle. Several big companies come to our college for placement including Amazon, Google, Oracle, Goldman Sachs, DE Shaw, Hilti, and many more. The highest package this year was 64 lakhs Rs. to a student in the CSE department. Placement percentage varies department-wise. The highest placement percentage is of CSE, then followed by ECE, EEE, MECH, and META, and then comes the rest. CSE placement percentage is about 91%.
Remarks:
Admission to this college, especially for B.Tech courses is purely on JEE Mains score basis. One can for JEE Mains through its official website. It is conducted every year twice in January and April. One is eligible to apply for JEE Mains after he/she has passed class 12. Several reservation benefits can be availed by those students who fall under their category.

From 7 semester placements starts. Companies like Jio, TCS, Bharat electronics, Texas Instruments, etc. visit. This year's highest package is 64k from oracle and the average is 11k. 90 % of students get placed.
Remarks:
10+2 students can give jee mains exam to get admission into VNIT and also your category rank also fulfilled the need of VNIT. Home state students get a little bit of benefit and also sc/st students can get admission on less percentile.
Placement Experience:
From the end of 6th semester, students are eligible for the campus placement Many Core and non-core companies visit our campus, the average package for this year is around 12 LPA and the highest package offered is 64 LPA for 10 students. The percentage of placement depends from department to department but on average 94% of the students get placed
Remarks:
Admission took place by josaa followed by csab counselling The cutoff for Metallurgical and Materials Engineering was around 56000 general rank The total fee for academics in vnit for a year is 133000 Rs for the general category and reservation benefits are there for people having yearly income less than 500000 Lpa.
Placement Experience:
Students are eligible for placement in the 7th semester if they are not having any backlog in any subject in their previous semesters. Companies like Google, Oracle, D.E.Shaw, Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, BNY Mellon, Hilti, Accenture, etc are coming for placements. The average package is about 11.5 LPA. The CSE branch has a record of 100% placement. The highest packages are offered by companies like Oracle, D.E.Shaw, and Gameskraft which are more than 30 LPA. The placement percentage of the institute is about 80-84%.
Remarks:
For doing Btech/BArch in VNIT or any other NIT, a student has to clear JEE Mains with a good percentile/rank. Then you will be gone through JOSSA/CSAB counselling process. After successfully completing this process you will get admission into any NIT. For getting admission into VNIT, a student(General Category Boys) need atleast 96 to 96.5 this percentile in JEE Mains. For CSE, the criteria are even higher. A candidate requires a minimum 99.4 percentile in JEE mains. Fees Structure- (1)For SC/ST/VJ/NT - 4,350 Rs per semester. (2)For Gen/EWS/OBC- 66,850 per semester Fee Remission Scheme- (1)This scheme is only for Gen/EWS/OBC Category Students. (2)It is applicable for students whose family annual income is less than 5 lakh. (3)For the students having a family annual income of less than 1 lakh, all the tuition fee is returned back to them.
Placement Experience:
Usually from the 7th semester onwards, companies start visiting the campus for providing on-campus placements to the students. 5% of students opt for further studies immediately after their graduation and don't sit in the placements. 108 companies visited our college last year and the average package was around 9 lacs. This year as well, a lot of companies have arrived already and 70% of final year students are already placed. The highest package for the 2022 batch up to now is 68 lacs per annum.
Remarks:
I gave JEE Mains exam, and there was JOSAA Councelling through which students got admitted into various NITs. The fees for JOSAA is 35000, which is later reduced from the fee that you have to pay at your institute.
