Ques. Which is a better choice among industrial systems engineering at IIT Kharagpur and electrical engineering at IIT Bhubaneswar?
● Top Answer By Sandhya R on 28 Jul 21
Ans.IIT Bhubaneshwar has come into existence recently and it is a new and young institute. It needs to develop more to grow and attain the reputation like other well stable institutes. It has to improve in terms of infrastructure, faculty, and opportunities.
A few points on IIT Kharagpur before taking a decision:
IIT Kharagpur is a well stable and maintained institute and has everything that you wish in an institute. It has the best faculty, reputation, and infrastructure.
You can choose IIT Kharagpur if you want to spend your college years on a good campus with all the facilities as it is heaven for four years.
If you are not getting the branch of your interest, there is an option to change the branch. But you must attain a higher GPA in your first semester, however, it is not an assured way and is risky.
Compared with Industrial System Engineering at IIT Kharagpur, EE at IIT Bhubaneshwar would be a better option as the academics and job opportunities are better. You will receive great placement offers in IIT Bhubaneshwar also.
It ends up at the branch you are interested in and then the institute. Both these branches are like North and south.Read more

Ques. Shall I go for IIT Bhubaneswar or NIT Rourkela or IIT Hyderabad for an MSc in Chemistry?
● Top Answer By Anil Tigga on 22 Apr 21
Ans.Well, I do not have much knowledge about the scope of MSc in Chemistry from IIT Hyderabad. But, between IIT Bhubaneswar and NIT Rourkela, I would suggest you choose NIT Rourkela over IIT Bhubaneswar. The reasons for this are as follows.
NIT Rourkela holds rank 19 whereas IIT Bhubaneswar is ranked at 26 by NIRF in the year 2020. Thus, NIT Rourkela holds a better rank than IIT Bhubaneswar.
The ranking that NIT Rourkela holds is mainly because of its infrastructure and research facilities. Many research papers have been published by the institute in the past years.
MSc in Chemistry is a research-oriented subject. Therefore, this branch has thrived at NIT Rourkela. It is worth opting for Chemistry and Physics at NIT Rourkela.
If you really like Chemistry and want to pursue a master’s degree in the subject, NIT Rourkela is definitely the right choice for you.Read more
Ques. How is a dual degree in mechanical engineering at IIT Bhubaneswar in comparison with NIT Surat (SVNIT) mechanical engineering?
● Top Answer By Janvi Bhambri on 28 Jul 21
Ans.It is very important to get clear about the dual degree and whether it is available in both the institutes with the same branches or not.
SVNIT's mechanical branch is very good as the faculties are well experienced and they won't let you down in any circumstances and would be very supportive. They are quite good and would help in academics and non-academics things also.
From the placement perspective, the placement record of SVNIT mechanical engineering is quite high. Many core companies for the core branches like mechanical visit the campus for the on-campus placements. They also offer two student chapters to enhance and improve the student's technical skills.
IIT's are considered higher than the NIT's and are provided by more budget. Therefore, they have slightly more advantages than NIT.Read more
