Lovely Professional University B.Tech Biotechnology Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for B.Tech Biotechnology program at LPU must have qualified 10+2 with minimum 60% aggregate marks and Physics, Chemistry, English and Mathematics or Biology or Biotechnology as compulsory subjects. Candidates who do not have English as a subject can only apply if they complete 10+2 from English medium.

There is 5% relaxation for candidates from North East or Sikkim, Wards of Defence Personnel and wards of Kashmiri Migrants.

In order to get admission in the BTech Biotechnology program at LPU, students need to qualify the LPUNEST Exam. On the basis of qualifying exam merit, the selection list is prepared. 

LPU- B.Tech Biotechnology Entrance Exam

LPUNEST is an online entrance exam conducted by LPU for admission to its undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

• It is a multiple-choice test with 120 questions and spans 2 ½ hours.
• The questions are divided into 4 sections, each quizzing on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, and English respectively. 
• Each section carries 30 questions. 
• Each correct answer carries 4 marks (2 marks for the English section). There is no negative marking.

Interested candidates can follow the given steps to proceed with an application at LPU for the BTech Biotechnology course.

• Visit the official website of LPU and register with information such as Name, Email ID, Mobile No., State, Gender, etc
• The email ID with which you will apply will be the username.
• Pay the examination fee and application form of your choice as it comes in 2 formats, the soft copy which is INR 1000/- for boys and INR 500/- for girls and printed copy which is INR 1500/- for boys and INR 1000/- for girls.

The 4-year program is divided into 8 semesters with the odd semesters called Autumn Term and the even semesters called Spring Term. 

• The coursework of BTech Biotechnology consists of foundation and core courses and 4 electives each in engineering and other streams of choice. 
• Students will have elective courses from 3rd year onwards
• The curriculum is inclusive of Industry certifications, MOOCs, Workshops, Guest lectures, Educational Trips, Live projects, Incubation projects, Community projects, Hackathons / Co-curricular Competitive events, projects with NGOs, etc
• Students can study a semester or year abroad and gain a foreign degree for the duration. This is only available after completing the first 2 years.
