Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination in any stream conducted by a recognized Board / University / Council.

Those candidates who have passed their Matriculation examination AND have also passed three year Diploma in any Trade from Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Chandigarh or such Examination from any other recognized State Board of Technical Education, or Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology, Longowal.

Course Details

The I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University is inviting applications for the BCA admission academic year 2021-22. The interested students can apply for the BCA programme till September 30, 2021 and can submit their data on the web portal by October 7, 2021. However, the academic session for the same is scheduled to commence from October 1, 2021 onwards.

PTU BCA Key Highlights

The I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University offers its BCA programme in the minimum duration of three years.
The regular BCA program consists of 6 semesters while the BCA (lateral entry) programme comprises 4 semesters and its duration is for 2 years.
The university accepts the scores of national level entrance exams such as JEE Main for granting admission into the BCA Programme.
The minimum eligibility criterion for the program is 10+2. The application procedure for the same is done via online mode.
The highest salary package offered to a BCA graduate in the PTU was of INR 10 LPA.

PTU, BCA Eligibility Criteria

In order to be eligible for the BCA course, the candidate needs to fulfill any one of the following two criteria-

The candidate shall have passed the 10+2 or its equivalent examination in any stream conducted by a recognized Board/University/Council.
The candidate shall have passed their Matriculation examination and have also passed three year Diploma in any Trade from Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Chandigarh or such Examination from any other recognized State Board of Technical Education, or Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology, Longowal

In order to be eligible for the BCA (lateral entry) course, the candidate needs to fulfill any one of the following two criteria-

The candidates shall have passed the 10+2 with 1 year Diploma in Computer Application/IT (or equivalent) from a recognized University with Mathematics as a subject at 10+2 or DIT/DCA level.

PTU, BCA Admission Guidelines

The admissions into the course will be based upon merit marks or marks secured by the student in the entrance test. The merit list will be prepared and displayed on the official website. On the basis of this list, applicants may be called for the counseling process. Seat allotment will entirely be dependent upon the availability of seats.

How to Apply Online?

Go to the official website of PTU
Register yourself with a new username and login with your email ID and password.
Candidates would be required to confirm their application form at the facilitation center
On the official website, the provisional and final merit list will be available
Candidates may submit their grievances during the display of provisional list at the facilitation center
Candidates then have to log in and confirm their form by filling in their college and course preferences
The CAP counseling is conducted in 3 rounds and after the allotment of college; candidates have to report to their institutes in order to confirm their admission.

Candidates may also apply for vacant seats through direct admission-

The candidates may ask for the college brochure and the application form from the administrative office after paying the application fee
The application fee can be paid via demand draft in favor of "I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University" payable at Jalandhar.
After filling the application form, the candidate may get his/her duly filled form examined at the Admission Cell or Admission Data Center.
Candidates may contact the Admission Center In-charge, in case of any difficulty.
Now submit the application form with all the necessary documents at the Administrative Office/Admission Data Center and get the payment slip from them.
After this, the candidate may collect the confirmation letter from Admission In-Charge.

The first year fees for the BCA course is INR 46,850/-

PTU, BCA Placements

The IKGPTU has a Training & Placement Cell which is responsible for conducting the on-campus placement drives and manages the recruitment process.
The placement cell also organizes various seminars, workshops, mock interviews, group discussions and Pre-placement talks for its students.
IKGPTU Amritsar Campus has managed to maintain and achieve around 90% of placements in the graduation courses of B.Tech and BCA till date.
The highest salary package received was INR 10 LPA whereas the lowest salary package ranges from INR 3- 3.5 LPA.
Companies such as Tata Consultancy Services, Accenture, Rein Games, Covalience, Techies Infotech, Kochar Infotech, Skyach Software Solutions and many other visit the campus to grant placement opportunities for different profiles like Software Engineer Trainee, Software Engineering Associate, Software Developer, Business Development Executive, Graduate Engineer Trainee, etc.
