Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL) was established in 2006 in Patiala, Punjab. It is one of the 22 National Law Universities of India. It is approved by the Bar Council of India and registered with University Grants Commission (UGC). It offers BA.LLB as an undergraduate course, LLM in multiple specializations as a postgraduate course, and Ph.D. courses at the post-doctoral level.
- Candidates applying to BA.LLB must have passed 10 + 2. Admissions are based on CLAT.
- Admissions to LLM are also based on CLAT PG / CLAT LLM. Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in law to be eligible.
- Admissions to Ph.D. courses are based on an entrance test conducted by the institute. Candidates must be qualified with LLM to apply.
RGNUL was ranked #13 among the law colleges in 2019 by The Week and #7 in India Today 2020 rankings. It also ranked #10 in NIRF Law Colleges Rankings 2020, retaining its position from the previous year.
