Jodhpur National University Admissions 2024: Courses, Application Process, Eligibility, Result

Jodhpur National University offers undergraduate programs such as Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) and B.tech Lateral in various specializations such as Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. The university also offers a Dual Degree B.Tech + MBA in Engineering & Management Studies. The duration period is different for each of the courses.

For admission in the B.Tech or in the Dual Degree program, the candidates who have successfully completed their 10+2 level or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible. However, the students need to appear in Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

Admission in the B.Tech Lateral is done on the basis of marks scored in entrance test conducted by the university. The candidates who fail to meet the eligibility criteria will not be entertained by the university in the admission process.

Apart from the technical courses, Jodhpur National University also provides education in the field of Dental Science, Pharmacy and Physiotherapy. The courses offered are Bachelor of Dental Science (BDS), Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm), Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) and a Dual Degree B.Pharm + MBA. The duration period varies for each of the courses.

In order to get admission in the above-mentioned courses, the candidates must have to complete their 10+2 level or equivalent in relevant discipline. However, the eligible candidates need to appear in an entrance test conducted by the university.

For admission in BDS, a relaxation of 5% marks is given to the reserved category candidates in comparison to 45% marks for General category candidates.

The university offers various courses at undergraduate level such as Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA), a Dual Degree BBA + MBA, BA.LLB, BCA + MCA, Bachelor of Arts (BA), BA (Hons), Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Bachelor of Library (B.Lib) and Bachelor of Journalism & Mass Communication (BJMC). The duration period depends upon the nature of course opted by the candidates.

For admission in the above-mentioned courses, except BA.LLB, the eligible candidates are selected on the basis of marks scored in the 10+2 level or equivalent in the relevant discipline.

However, the candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria, else will be eliminated from the admission process.

The candidates who are looking forward to take admission in BA.LLB will need to appear in Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) or LSAT (Law School Admission Test).

At the postgraduate level, Jodhpur National University offers Master of Technology (M.Tech) degree program in various specializations such as Electrical Engineering-Power Systems, Civil Engineering -Transportation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering- Thermal Engineering, Civil Engineering- Geotechnical Engineering, Production Engineering, Instrumentation and Controls Electrical, Environmental Engineering, Structural Engineering, Computer Science and Digital Communication. All the specializations are offered for a duration period of two years each.

In order to get admission in M.Tech, the candidates will have to appear in Graduate Aptitude test in Engineering (GATE) conducted by the IITs and IISC. Only those candidates are eligible for this course who have obtained a minimum of 55% marks in the Bachelor’s degree of Engineering.

Apart from Master of Technology (M.Tech), the university also offers Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) and Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) at the postgraduate level. M.Pharm has got various specializations such as Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacognosy, Quality Assurance and Clinical Pharmacy. All the courses are offered for a duration period of two years each.

Admission in M.Pharm and MPT is done on the basis of marks scored in the last qualifying examination in relevant discipline with a minimum marks of 50%.

The university also offers Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Application (MCA) for a duration period of two years and three years respectively.

Candidates who are willing to take admission in MBA will have to appear in Common Admission Test (CAT) or Management Aptitude Test (MAT). A minimum of 45% marks is required at the graduation level examination as to get admission into the MBA program.

For admission in MCA, the eligible candidates will have to appear in RMCAAT.

Jodhpur National University offers various postgraduate programs such as Master of Law (LLM), Master of Arts (MA), Master of Commerce (M. Com), Master of Science (M.Sc), Master of Library (M.Lib) and Master of Journalism & Mass Communication (MJMC). All the courses have a duration period of two years.

Candidates seeking admission in LLM need to appear in Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) or LSAT (Law School Admission Test). However, the candidates should have secured 50% marks at the Bachelor’s level examination (LL. B).

Apart from LLM, admissions into rest of the courses are done on the basis of marks scored in last qualifying examination in the relevant discipline.

At the doctoral level, Jodhpur National University offers research oriented programmes leading to award M.Phil and Ph.D. degrees. The doctoral programmes are offered under various specializations such as Engineering & technology, Management, Pharmaceutical Science, Computer Application, Applied Science, Law Education and Arts & Commerce. The duration period for Ph.D is 1.5 years and M.Phil is one year.

Admissions in the doctoral courses are done on the basis of marks scored in entrance test conducted by the university followed by a round of interview. However, the students who have a valid rank or marks in GATE/NET of UGC/CSIR & SLET will be given the first preference.
