Ques. Which is better, ECE in Pondicherry Engineering College or Biotech in Sastra?

Ans. It depends on where you want to live and study. If you are comfortable staying in Pondicherry and are interested in ECE, go with PEC, which is one of India's oldest institutes. On the other hand, SASTRA University is a more recent private prestigious university and it has great infrastructure facilities and placement record. BioTech in Sastra has IT placements with a lot of companies whereas ECE in PEC has good placement but is not that great. The table shows a brief overview of the institution: Particulars PEC SASTRA Highest CTC 10 LPA 28.3 LPA Average CTC 4 LPA 9.3 LPA Fees 3.77 LPA 6.20 LPA You can opt for PEC as its fee is lower than SASTRA. Ans. One of my friends studied at SASTRA University. According to him, Mechanical engineering is pretty good when placements are considered. The overall academics and curriculum are average. The faculty are highly experienced but are very few in number. Students interested in Research are provided appropriate guidance and backup for it. Intra and Inter-departmental technical festivals also are conducted. Mechanical Engineering students have their labs dedicated to their department. Students take part in events conducted by SAE which make a real good addition to your resume. Categories Mechanical Engineering at SASTRA University Course Fee 6.20 lakh Placement Percentage 90% Highest CTC 15 LPA Average CTC 6 LPA Lowest CTC 3.5 LPA Recruiting Companies PayPal, Mu Sigma, TCS, L&T, etc. Though ECE is said to be the most sought after department in SASTRA University, when placements, faculty and course curriculum is considered. Hi Srinivasan, students who have scored 60% in intermediate with PCM are considered eligible for the course. Thus, you are eligible for admission. However, admission will be approved only on the basis of marks in JEE Main 2019.

Hi Ammu, only those students who have scored minimum 60% in 12th class with PCM are held eligible for admission. Thus, you are eligible for admission. Cut off for the course in JEE Main has not been released yet. You will be updated regarding the same as soon as there is any announcement from official authorities.

Hi Nimalan, there is no provision of editing the details in the form. Thus, it would be advisable if you register yourself all over again using correct information. Last date to fill the form is June 14, 2019 (tentatively).

Hi Rishi, the eligibility for B.sc candidate should have passed 10 2 with a central/state board of examination which is recognized by the discipline of the study of SASTRA University with a bare minimum of 50%.
