      Admission :

The only way to get admission in this college is through passing TANCET exam. You have to apply for the exam through online and after the results and ranks are published. You should send an DD of Rs 300 along with Xerox copy of your academic certificates to GCT Coimbatore. After this the counselling ranks and dates will be published online and you have to attend the counselling on the given date. The date and session of your counselling will be based on your TANCET score. The higher the score the earlier you will attend the counselling. The venue for counselling is GCT Coimbatore. After you selected the college and course. The allotment order will be given to you and a receipt of Rs 5000 will be given which you have to pay there itself. The date of admission for the college will be given on the allotment order. For University of Madras you have to bring all the original certificates along with attested Xerox copies of your certificates for completing the admission process. The fees has to be paid during the admission. The fees can be paid only through online and the print of the fees paid receipt should be given to the office. The corresponding forms should be filled and given to the office at Department of Management Studies for MBA.

      Remarks :

The only problem in this college is the infrastructure. Most of the buildings are very old and especially our department building is quite old and prone to leakage during rain. Other than that the college is quite good and well equipped with a big library and wifi facilities are also provided.

      Admission :

When I was in my undergrad, getting admission at University of Madras is a big deal. I prepared extremely hard for the entrance exams apart from my impeccable academic record. I stood first in my class in my undergrad all the three years and also got UNIVERSITY Rank at the end. My entrance exam was held sometime in June end or july first week after canceling the dates so many times. The University administration is very poor I say. I think I joined sometime in August. I stood first in the entrance exam and admitted in merit quota. There are lot of different quotas. Being from Forward caste, eventhough I stood first according to my marks in my entrance exam, I got 2nd rank in overall category and someone from lower caste category with lesser marks got first. This was so disturbing.

      Remarks :

Very bad management, bathrooms were dirty. The professors are rude and they dont have compassion nor respect.

      Remarks :

Ques. What are some helpful tips for students starting their first year at Madras University?

      ● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 01 Oct 21

Ans. Some of my friends studied at Madras University. According to them, it is really good and you can make use of some of the following tips after you join Madras University. Utilize the library at the university to the fullest. It is one of the largest in Chennai and contains a wide range of books.  Take class notes seriously. It is better to take them yourself during the lectures. The exam papers will be set by your own professors and thus it is important  Do all the assignments on time and make an effort to present yourself in front of the professors. This will make a good impression on you. Participate in the activities the university undertakes and make a good name for yourself in the department. Enjoy your weekdays and most of all the weekends. Just think that these are the best years of your life which are not coming back to you ever after. So utilize your time in making good friends, enjoying life and at the same time studying well.Read more

Ques. How do I get the transcripts from University of Madras if I live abroad?

      ● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 01 Oct 21

Ans. You should use some service provider such as “Mail Transcripts” or “Clear Transcripts” for the same. These services are online and quite seamless with a very simple process.  Fill the online application in the portal and submit the required fee. Send your original documents to the university. Here the service provider will come in handy as they will do the talking with the university on your behalf.  You have to submit the notarized documents to the service provider after they come up with a solution. Then you will get your transcripts at your doorstep without much fuss.  They will send your transcript to WES/IQAS without needing your intervention. You can do all this work by yourself or through some of your acquaintances as well but it will take your precious time on unnecessary work.Read more

Ques. Can I take up a distance MBA course from Madras university in Chennai Is it worth the money?

      ● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 29 Sept 21

Ans. No, you should not opt for the distance MBA course as you need to work first, clear all the loan dues, and gain experience before going for anything else.  You can then pursue the MBA course by taking admission in any of the renowned institutions like IIM. It offers various executive MBA program which requires a minimum of 3-5 experience.  As the distance learning courses don’t add any value to your resume and while on other hand executive MBA helps you increase your package and to also enhance your skill set. Therefore, opt for the executive MBA rather than the distance learning course.Read more
