Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is one of India's largest central universities with an enrollment of more than 37327 students. The university welcomes students from all states in India and from different countries, especially from Africa, West Asia, and Southeast Asia. AMU has now 13 faculties comprising 117 teaching departments, 3 academies, and 21 centers and institutes. At AMU, most of the staff and students are residing on campus where there are 19 residence halls for students and 80 hostels. AMU offers more than 300 courses in the traditional and modern branches of education. Apart from the common courses like BA, B.Voc., BSc, etc, the university is also popular for its B.Tech and MBBS program. Admission to courses is based on the Departmental Admission Test and the Entrance Exam conducted by AMU. AMU has secured 9th Rank in Architecture & University category, 14th in Law, 23rd in Research, 19th in Overall, 28th in Medical, 32nd in Engineering, 31st in Dental and 55th in Management by NIRF 2023. AMU placement records are increasing every year. According to a press release, the highest package recorded at AMU Placement 2023 was INR 14 LPA. However, the complete AMU placements for 2023 have not yet been made public. In AMU Placements 2022, a total of 5,597 students (both UG and PG combined), and about 1,228 have been placed in top-notch companies. The highest salary package offered to a BTech student was INR 21 LPA and the median package stood at INR 10 LPA.

AMU Admission 2023-24

AMU admissions are conducted via online mode only. The university conducts admissions for UG and PG courses through single-window counseling in which a number of applicants applied for admissions. Admissions to the majority of the AMU courses are done based on the scores obtained in the entrance examination followed by a counseling process. Those candidates who have met the eligibility criteria of the course can apply online through the university official website. AMU Application Process

Candidates can apply for admission at Aligarh Muslim University only through Online mode. The Application Form, in other mode, will not be accepted in any case. Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate for each course of study. Follow the below mentioned Steps to be admitted to AMU Programs:

• Visit the University website www.amucontrollerexams.com.
• Candidate should then register online and provide his / her correct and functional email because the username and password etc. will be sent on this email.
• Candidate should Registration only once for applying to the multiple courses. 
• After Registering candidate should login using his/her username and password. Dashboard of the candidate will be available to him/her for filling the form. 
• The candidate should fill his/her Profile carefully. After saving the Profile, the candidate will be asked to review and confirm that the particulars entered are correct.
• Candidate should fill details of his/her educational qualifications by providing the name of all examinations passed, including qualifying examination, year of passing, Examination Roll No., University/Board from where passed, and the percentage/CGPA obtained. 
• Upload the important Documents that are required for Admission along with thumb impression and coloured photographs.
• Submit the Application fee through online mode only. The admission fee is not accepted in offline mode. 
• The Application Form is submitted electronically the moment the candidate makes the payment of the processing charges and payment is successful. 
• Candidates must take the printout of the Application form and keep it for future reference.

Note: Candidate will not be able to Edit/Update his/her Profile after confirmation. If a candidate finds any mistake in his/her Profile after confirmation, then he/she will have to re-register with different Username and Password to complete all the entries afresh.

Documents Required

• Scanned copy of date of birth certificate/High School Certificate of the candidate.
• Passport Size Photographs.
• Scanned copy of Marks-sheet / grade-sheet of qualifying examination. 
• Scanned copy of documents in support of claim under special category, if any.
• Scanned copy of documents in support of Professional Experience, if any.
• Scanned copy of No Objection Certificate from the employer, if employed at present. 

AMU Distance Education

AMU Centre of Distance Education offers admissions to distance education to its number of courses such as UG, PG, Diploma, etc. Admissions to all those courses are done through a merit basis prepared by the university officials. Interested students will have to fill up their application form by visiting the official website of AMU Centre of Distance Education. There is no requirement to get any ranking in the entrance exam, and all admission is done solely on the basis of merit. The application processes can be completed both online and offline.

Application Process

• Both an offline and online version of the application is available. For all programmes, there is a 300 INR application fee.
• To apply for an online admission, one must fill out the form and provide scanned copies of their supporting documentation.
• To apply for admission offline, candidates must send the application form, two copies of the required documentation, and seven passport-size photos.
• Candidate's performance in the prior qualifying exam, which was completed by the applicant, is taken into consideration when making a decision.

AMU Result

AMU conducts examinations for their courses in the month of May-June. The results for the examination will be released soon on their website. Candidates can download the result by visiting the official website of the university. They can access the university results by entering the registration numbers and the password.

AMU Placement

AMU has a separate training and placement cell for their students who is responsible to provides job opportunities to their students and assists them in getting placed to some top companies. The placement cells of the university also provide internship opportunities to their students. The highest salary during the AMU placements 2023 was INR 14 LPA, which was offered to an MBA student, According to Media claims. Despite this, The complete AMU placements for 2023 have not yet been made public. However, During AMU Placements 2022, 48 students were placed from the MCA & Engineering stream. These students were placed in the IT companies. A B.Tech student aquired the highest package of INR 21 LPA during AMU Placements 2022.
