What students say about Aligarh Muslim University - [AMU]

Likes

  • Its all awesome after all, its AMU. I think the Faculty of Arts is the best faculty in AMU.
  • They focus on motivating students to prepare for interviews and do their best to develop their personality.
  • I am very happy in terms of the placements because I got placed in IFFCO, a Dubai-based company, with a salary of 6.5L per annum.
  • Just in 28k, I earned a BA degree in Arabic from one of Indias most prestigious universities.
  • College also helps in extracurricular activities such as playing games like cricket, football, hockey, etc. Colleges also provide the best facilities.
  • The hostel facilities are like a kings palace as the food quality is simply marvelous, and the weekly food menu offers us a variety of dishes to enjoy.
  • This university ranks among the best Indian universities. The faculty who taught is very experienced, and the way of teaching is different.

Dislike

  • The college internship experience is poor. There is no support for internships. The knowledge gained by the students in five years is poor. Therefore, it is difficult for internships.
  • Placements are not up to par; almost 50% of students were placed, while the rest have to find placements on their own.
  • The fee structure is much lower compared to other colleges and universities because my university is a central university. It offers a very low fee structure and also provides scholarship opportunities.
  • The hostel fees are very low, but the mess is of very bad quality.
  • Very politically sensitive, students sometimes become violent. Police are always stationed outside the campus to prevent any outrage. Students exhibit strong biases towards religion, which occasionally makes other students feel uncomfortable.

Placement Experience:

From 6 to 7-semester students become eligible for campus placement there are lots of companies visiting here like Wipro, TCS, Microsoft, engineers limited and lots of companies visiting here I don't remember the name right now but placement here is good. The highest package is 1.2 or 1.3 crore is something a student from computer engineering. An average of 65 students is placed. If we talk about low placement percentage then the reason is lots of students opt for higher studies even after placements because of a good education system.

Remarks:

If we talk about the eligibility for the course, AMU has conducted its entrance for btech named AMUEEE and you can easily find the application form online. There is 50 reservation for internal students who complete more than 3 years in amu in any course to get an internal certificate and the rest is for outsiders. Everything is good and no problem in the admission process

Placement Experience:

Placements are heavily increased after covid. In top branches like CS, Electronics you can expect 9 to 10 lakh package. And for the core branch 6 lakh package. And now let's discuss the internship. You will be eligible in 3rd yr for an internship.

Remarks:

I am gonna share my admission process and details about ZHCET AMU. I am a first-year mechanical engineering student from ZHCET AMU. Eligibility - 10+2 with mathematics or diploma engineering. You have to fill up an online application form from wwwamucontrollerexam.com. And after you will be eligible to give entrance exams. Quota- Internal (those students have done secondary school from AMU). external (outside AMU school), Internal students have a 50% quota, As I had also an internal quota because I did my schooling at AMU schools.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester onwards. Last year the major companies that came to recruit for campus placements were Amazon, L&T, Accenture, Samsung, TCS, Wipro, PayPal, MATLAB, etc. The highest CTC of 31 LPA was offered by amazon to two students. The average package offered was around 5.5lpa. Around 75%(final year students) got placed. My plan is to start my own company or to get a good-paying job in a big multinational company.

Remarks:

Eligibility is passing class 12th with a minimum of 50%marks in physics, chemistry, English, and maths or passing a diploma in engineering from Aligarh Muslim university with a minimum of 50% aggregate. Candidate should not be more than 24 years of age at the end of the year. candidate should score at least 15 marks in amueee. The application form is available on amu website. The application fee is 650/- for B.Tech only, and 750/- for both B.Tech and BArch.
