Remarks :

There is nothing bad to mention. Management promoted freedom of expression and many political leaders including a prime minister of the country was moulded by the campus.

Admission :

Wrote IIT Joint Entrance Examination and got the sufficient rank, in the first 1100 candidates in the whole country. This entrance examination is supposed to be one of the toughest in the country and also most transparent as well as corruption free.

Remarks :

So, good thing first. I would say that our college, IIT(BHU) overall is a very good place to study four years of engineering. Definitely, going to the standards of IISc is still a far-fetched dream, but it still has very high potential of surpassing it. Given the number of projects underway, which have already been started, if that could be added with the revamping to academics that is driven by research and industry, IIT (BHU) can really become one of the best colleges in the country and abroad. The bad thing is that college management is slow and hierarchical which leads to delayed growth.

Ques. Who are the most famous successful IIT BHU Varanasi alumni?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 21 Oct 21

Ans. My brother attended IIT BHU. According to him, the most famous successful alumni of IIT BHU is P.M. Ajayan who pursued B.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering in the year 1985.  He is a Guinness World Record holder scientist and is currently working as a professor at Rice University Houston Texas USA in the Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science Department.  Before Rice University, he was the director of the NYSTAR interconnect focus center atRensselaer Polytechnic Institute till the year 2007 and was also the Henry Burlage Professor of Material Sciences and Engineering.Read more

Ques. Why is IIT BHU the worst IIT?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 21 Oct 21

Ans. There is no doubt that IIT BHU is one of the most renowned colleges in India and is comparable to the old IIT institutes. Here are some points mentioned that will prove why IIT BHU is a good IIT.  Approximately 34% of faculty members are lacking to fulfill the requirements in the IITs all over India whereas IIT BHU has no shortages and has highly knowledgeable and experienced faculties and they recruit the faculty similar to the norms of any older IIT. The club activities of IIT BHU are maintained by the 2nd and 3rd-year students and teachers of the institution do not interfere. This helps the student to gain management skills and exposure. Unlike other IITs, the course structure and timings of IIT BHU are quite lenient due to which the students can learn and follow their passion. This helps students to enjoy their college life and to be practical rather than mug up the theory. The college has a huge campus. In inter-IITs, IIT BHU has its reputation in all the sports due to the amazing faculties and the students. Although the institute possesses fewer facilities than the older IITs, administration improvements have been made in the last 3-4 years to ensure more facilities for the student. The security has increased due to the nuisance created by the miscreants and also the authorities take strict actions. Therefore, the institution is not the worst.Read more

Ques. Should I study CSE at BITS Pilani or CSE at IIT BHU?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 06 Oct 21

Ans. Having known some people studying in both these institutions, I can say that both are equally good in their own way. They both are established institutions and widely recognized. Let me share some facts about them, which might help you make your decision. BITS Pilani BITS Pilani has a beautiful 990-acre campus that accommodates all of the departments.  The campus is lush green and peaceful.  The students who come here are highly knowledgeable.  They can only get into BITS PILANI if they do well in the BITSAT, which is held every year.  There are also some overseas students. CSE has the highest placement rate here.  Unlike in IITs, there are no reservation quotas here. IIT (BHU) The IIT BHU campus is located in Varanasi. IIT BHU’s campus is royal (more like a temple) and can’t be compared to BITS Pilani.  It covers an area of 1400 acres. The students are highly intelligent and hard working.  However, because the institute is government-run, some students are not from well-off families, and a reservation quota is in place.  IIT BHU is ranked between 6 and 10 among India’s best engineering colleges. If you want to do a master’s degree in India, IITs offer very good packages after both a B.Tech and an M.Tech. Categories CSE at BITS Pilani CSE at IIT BHU Course Fee 19.19 lakh 8.35 lakh Placement Percentage 80% 80% Highest CTC 35 LPA 27 LPA Average CTC 11.37 LPA 13 LPA Lowest CTC 6 LPA 6.93 LPA Recruiting Companies Microsoft, Tech Mahindra, KPMG, HCL, etc. Cognizant, IBM, TCS, Wipro, etc. Therefore, you can see that they both are good. But the choice ultimately depends on you, as this is your career, and you will be responsible for shaping it. So, analyze both of them and choose carefully.Read more

Ques. Should I choose NIT Calicut CSE or IIT BHU chemical Engineering?

● Top Answer By Monika on 27 Aug 21

Ans. If you are interested in coding and aim to work in good corporate firms, then it is suggested that you go for CSE at NIT Calicut. But if you want an IIT tag, you can opt for IIT BHU. But this won't matter much afterward. So, if you are focused on doing research then Chemical Engineering at IIT BHU will be a good option. You can also learn coding on the sidelines, which might be beneficial if you sit for placements. Parametres CSE at NIT Calicut Chemical Engineering at IIT BHU Tuition Fee INR 16,000 INR 6.7 LPA Placement Percentage 73.5% 71% Average Package INR 11.57 LPA INR 16.27 LPA The choice of studying in a college pursuing a particular subject is entirely up to you. Check where your strengths and weaknesses lie and then choose accordingly. Both institutes are good in their own way. But it is your hard work and dedication that will prove if CSE or Chemical will be good for you. Read more

Ques. Which one is the best, chemical engineering at IIT BHU, civil engineering at IIT Bhubaneswar, or CSE at NIT Rourkela?

● Top Answer By Keshav Jindal on 28 Jul 21

Ans. It all depends on your interests and future goals. Check the following points before taking a decision: Chemical Engineering: If a student likes Fast calculations, Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, and practical inorganic chemistry. Civil Engineering: If a student likes Maths(calculus), Geometrical drawings, Graphs, Physics(Thermal properties of matter) CSE: If you like programming or are interested in developing your logical skills. When the choices look upon, you must know that IIT BHU and IIT Bhubaneshwar offer a 100% placement rate while NIT Rourkela has a placement rate of 85%. The average package of IIT BHU is around 8.19 LPA while IIT Bhubaneshwar is 15.8 LPA and for NIT Rourkela is 8.75 LPA. Category IIT BHU IIT Bhubaneshwar NIT Rourkela On-Campus 10 LPA 15 LPA 15.25 LPA Off-Campus 65 LPA 45 LPA 30.6 LPA It's not always about the placements rather it's about your interest and abilities to learn and explore a particular field. If you don't have any idea which branch to opt for, then you can go to the branch in IIT as it would be great to have an IIT tag and to start a career with it.Read more
