Uttarakhand Open University (UOU) is the only Open University established in the state of Uttarakhand with the aim to provide distance learning education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It was established by the State Government Act in 2005 and recognized by Distance Education Council (DEC) and UGC.

- Uttarakhand Open University (UOU) invites applications to its various courses in two cycles namely: Summer Session and Winter Session.
- The application of one session is not valid for another session.
- Students can apply either offline or online mode.
- In online mode, candidates have to apply at the admission portal of the UOU website whereas in offline mode applications can be obtained from various study centres.
- Admissions to all UG and PG courses are done directly on a first come first serve basis.
- In case of admissions to MBA and PG Diplomas in Management, aspirants need valid CAT or MAT scores or appear in the entrance test conducted by UOU.
- Interested candidates can also apply for PG Diploma courses directly, subject to the availability of seats.

- In case of admissions to B. Yogic Science learners having diploma in Yoga and Naturopathy from UOU may apply directly into second year.

UOU offers a number of post graduate courses including M.A in eleven subject specializations, M.Sc in three subject Specialization, MCA with lateral entry, Master of Geo Informatics (MGIS) with lateral entry, Master of Information Technology (MSCIT) with lateral entry, M.Com, MSW, LLM, M.A. Journalism & Mass Communication (MAJMC), MHM and MTTM.

The university also offers Post Graduate Diplomas in various specializations. Minimum eligibility requirement is to have a graduate degree. Admissions to the PGDs are primarily done on first come first serve basis.
The university also offers professional courses viz. MBA and PGDM in Marketing and HR. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% in case of reserved category candidates). Applications are invited for summer and winter session where candidates have the option of applying in both online and offline mode. Candidates must follow the given directives to submit an application form successfully.
Online Mode:
- Applicants are requested to read the instructions carefully provided on the online admission portal before making an application.
- Candidates are advised to keep ready scanned copies of the given documents before filling the Online Admission Form:
