    Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose electronics and electrical communication as I was interested in the field. Also, this is a quite famous and reputed field in terms of packages and areas of interest. Student to faculty ratio is 8:1 and they are actually highly qualified. Exams are hard and take place two times in a semester mainly endsem and midsem exams.

    Course Curriculum Overview:

My college is one of the best colleges in India and to get here I qualified for one of the world's toughest exams so I chose here lower branch to get more opportunities in any field I wanted because that's the beauty of a good college because it provides leverage to choose any field of interest and also my branch is one of the oldest branches and have a good opportunity in the private sector as well as government sector. Here is my department, there are more than 20 proofs to assist you in your research and to teach you. My branch consists of 55 students and the department consists of 100 students in my batch. Here the faculty is very much qualified and have their Phd in top universities of the world like MIT, Harvard etc. The term exam is very much from time to time and it is quite hard to pass the exam but if you study every day than it would not be that much difficult

I like it. The faculty: student ratio is 1:21. Ph.D. Researchers, their teaching methods are better than expected. Some of the professors teach by projecting a presentation while others teach on board. There'll be a 2 class test, a mid and an end sem.

    Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course purely because of the rank and I was getting IIT KGP which is a dream college for many. The faculty includes great profs like Joy Sen Sir, Arjun Sir, Arup Sir, and Shreyas Sir. They are world-class teachers and the learning environment is so great at IIT KGP. Two-term exams namely mid-sem and end sem along with a few class tests happen and they aren't so difficult to pass believe me. I mean you guys have cleared the world's toughest examination to reach there, the term exam is comparatively a piece of cake

The reason to choose this course lies in my short-term as well as long-term goals. The institute is pioneered in operations as well as analytics. Ques. Why is IIT Kharagpur Electrical Engineering department so deadly? How do they differ from others' IIT Electrical Department?

    ● Top Answer By Anumita Chatterjee on 22 Mar 23

My brother had offers from IITs to choose any branch except CSE and chose Electrical Engineering in IIT KGP. To date, he does not regret his decision. There are ups and downs in every Institute; it just takes time to adapt yourself to such situations. It is true that some professors overdo it and push you to the extreme, but if you look at this in a positive manner, it’s their pushing that eventually helps you succeed. There are many seniors who might make fun of your tiny efforts in the labs but trust me, today when they will look back, they will surely be regretting the time they wasted watching movies or series. My brother told me that Electrical Engineering gave him so many friends and experiences that make him yearn for college life today. The labs are old-fashioned and lack much activity in contrast to a SigNet lab/ Power Systems lab. Curriculum: The primary aim of the course curriculum offered in Electrical Engineering at IIT KGP is to impart to students tools and skills that will make it possible for them to excel in departments such as Electronics, Communication, Computers, Aerospace, and Energy. Job prospects: An important point to note is that Electrical Engineering does not prepare you for a job but for higher education in the respective areas. Many people from the department pursue M.S. in Aerospace and Material Sciences.  Faculty: While many may not agree, the faculty is excellent except for a few. The cream faculty include Prof. D Das, Prof TKB, Prof S Patra, and Prof S Chattopadhyay among others. Interacting with them might change your opinion regarding the IIT KGP faculty. Research: The research is obviously not at par with that conducted in CS or EC, but it surely does justice to the department itself. I think it’s high time people clear misconceptions about Electrical Engineering and develop a positive opinion about it. We should stop running after jobs and companies and in turn let companies seek us....Read more

    ● Top Answer By Ajay Diwan on 22 Mar 23

The Economics branch is slowly becoming one of the best branches of IIT Kharagpur. Integrated M.Sc. (5 years) in Economics opens with JEE rank 3615 and closes at 5439 as per JoSAA 2022. However, it’s not necessary to evaluate a course on the basis of its opening and closing rank because you can get your branch changed on the basis of your performance in the first year. A student has to obtain around 8.73 CGPA in order to get their branch changed to Economics. You will have to work very hard to get a high CGPA for branch change. Curriculum: I have entailed some topics covered over the semesters. For a detailed list, you can visit the official website.
