NIT Durgapur was founded as the Regional Engineering College in 1960 to meet the needs of major industries in the region. Since then, it has become a major education for engineering. It was elevated to a National Institute of Technology and given a ‘deemed university’ status in 2003.

NITDGP is the first institute in eastern India to be selected as a lead institute under the Technical Education Quality Improvement Program of the Indian government funded by the World Bank. In 2007, it was declared as an institute of national importance.

In 2019, NIRF ranked it as the 46th best engineering institute in India, while Outlook ranked it 37th in its list of top engineering colleges in the country. NIT Durgapur is an AICTE and UGC-approved, and NBA-accredited institute.

NITDGP has modern laboratories with state-of-the-art technology which have paved the path for quality research by faculty members and students. It has a strong faculty comprising 224 accomplished scholars; 211 of them are PhD holders, and five of them have won reputed national or international awards, such as the DAAD Fellowship, OSA Senior Member, and so on.

NITDGP offers 36 specializations across seven courses: nine under B.Tech, nineteen under M.Tech and four under MBA. In addition, it offers MCA, M.S.W, M.Sc and PhD courses.

Candidates interested in applying to NITDGP for B.Tech need to fulfil certain eligibility criteria. They need to pass 10+2 in the Science stream with 75% marks or above. To be selected, they have to take the JEE-Main, following which they have to go for JoSAA counselling.

Candidates willing to apply for M.Tech should have a B.Tech degree with 55% marks. For selection, they have to take the GATE.

To apply for MBA, candidates need to have a Bachelor’s degree with 55% marks; to qualify for selection, they need a valid CAT score card. For MCA, a candidate requires a graduate’s degree. Though the degree can be in any field, the candidate must have studied Mathematics as a compulsory subject either in 10+2 or in college. For selection, the candidate needs to take the NIMCET.

NITDGP has a good placement record. Recruiters here include the likes of Infosys, Microsoft, IBM and L&T. The highest package offered here was 3.254 million INR, while the average package here is 909,000 INR per year. The B.Tech batch of 2018-19 was 620 jobs offered and 514 students placed.

NIT Durgapur B.Tech Admission 2020

How to apply for JoSAA?

After a candidate qualifies the JEE-Main, they will have to undergo counselling before final selection. The procedure for registering for counselling is given below:

Click on the registration page at the official JoSAA website
Use the JEE Main application number to log in
Ensure that your candidate profile is accurate
Click on ‘Submit changes’
Fill out your preferred colleges and specializations according to the list of available options
Lock the selected choices by clicking on ‘I agree to lock my choices’
Keep a printout of the page for future reference.
After submitting all the requisite information, pay the counselling fees (800 INR) online
Keep a printout of the application form. It will be needed for verification at the facilitation centre.

Fill up all the fields as applicable. Enter the CAT/CMAT/XAT percentile (from CAT November 2019, CMAT 2020 or XAT 2020) and Transaction ID.

NITDGP MCA Admission 2020

I get into prestigious Nit Durgapur through AIEEE Entrance Exam for which around 13 lakhs students give exam every year out of which few thousands get into Nit's. It's rank comes under top 50 engineering colleges in India so I choose to take admission in this college.

Mine was AIEEE. Now JEE Mains and advance.

Remarks :

I got this college by AIEEE counselling 2012.U Need to fill choices according to your preference and depending on your score in entrance merit is prepared and college is allotted in four regular rounds of counselling and spot rounds. Not instead of AIEEE and JEE, JEE advance and mains are conducted. Merit is prepared on the basis of this exam.

Admission :

I got this through jee mains entrance exam. I need CSE OR ECE department, for my marks I got that institute by josaa counselling for that rank. we have 7 counseling rounds from those we can freeze or float or slide in any rounds. If we float we can any other if we choose freeze we will get what we get in that round if we choose slide option we can get amy other department in that chosen institute.

Admission :

The admission for this college is based on the jee main marks. We need to select choices in official josaa website. After that we need to attend the college after final councelling. There will be certificate verification at the college. At the final stage they will take photo for identity card and take a digital signature.

Admission :

First of all, getting admission in any Nits you have to clear jee main,which is conducted by NTA.after the result of jee main,you have to go through the counseling process which is conducted by jossa.its hardly starting after 10 to 15 days after jee advance result.There are 7 rounds in jossa counseling and after that 2 more special roynds are conducted which is mainly based upon the open rank,to full fill the remaining seat.on basis of rank,you will get opportunity to get admission in Nits.

Remarks :

They are good in all the aspects,either academics or sports.The management of college is also good.management play its role in a very good way.
