It is the best for mechanical engineering and it has CMERI beside college and Durgapur steel plant and Jadavpur University, IIT Kharagpur,IIST Shibpur, ISM Dhanbad top colleges gives the motivation to go into that college. which also supports the many other industries near to it and many more to peak into it.

Placement Experience :

Plethora of companies do visit campus but most of companies take one or two and some mass companies takes people for mechanical only one or two companies will come and they to take randomly and everything which comes are sales and management companies. Campus alumni network is good but network for job referrals so worst

Remarks :

Overall Nit Durgapur is a good college and placement is secured.

Admission :

I get into prestigious Nit Durgapur through AIEEE Entrance Exam for which around 13 lakhs students give exam every year out of which few thousands get into Nit's. It's rank comes under top 50 engineering colleges in India so I choose to take admission in this college.

"LIFE OF AN ENGINEER IN NIT DURGAPUR"

Admission :

Mine was AIEEE. Now JEE Mains and advance.

Remarks :

I got this college by AIEEE counselling 2012.U Need to fill choices according to your preference and depending on your score in entrance merit is prepared and college is allotted in four regular rounds of counselling and spot rounds. Not instead of AIEEE and JEE, JEE advance and mains are conducted. Merit is prepared on the basis of this exam.

Ans. NIT Durgapur and Jadavpur University are institutes based in West Bengal. According to the reviews I got online, they both are equally good institutions. But NIT Durgapur is preferred among them by the students. The following are the reasons as to why: NIT Durgapur is ranked 29th in the NIRF Ranking for Engineering 2021 and 71st in the NIRF Ranking in Overall 2021. It is an institute of national importance. It was one of the first eight RECs established by the Indian government. The alumni base of the institute is strong. You may find at least one alumnus in every top company around the world. The institute has a well-established infrastructure, including hostels, guest houses, a game and sports complex, a bank, a canteen, a workshop, and more. It is subject to upgrade. Durgapur is a small green and clean city. The placement details are below. Average CTC INR 8.5 LPA Highest CTC INR 44 LPA Top Recruiters VISA Steel, BYJU’s, Reliance Retail, Vedantu, JSW, LTI, Genpact, Capgemini, Lewis Berger, and more. Several companies only hire students from National Institutes such as IITs, NITs, and IIITs. So, NIT Durgapur students will have an edge. CERN in Switzerland, NUS in Singapore, MIT in the USA, and other renowned universities have signed research MOUs with NIT Durgapur. Ques. Which is better, IT in NIT Puducherry or CSE in NIT Durgapur?

Ans. It is best to choose NIT Durgapur over NIT Puducherry. Here are some of the reasons why. NIT Durgapur was established long before NIT Puducherry came into existence, making it older than the latter. The faculty of NIT Durgapur is well-experienced and supportive. Besides, there are several clubs and societies that go on to promote coding amongst students, not only mandated for the CSE or IT department, but for students in other branches as well. The coding community of the institute is commendable. Other than that, numerous top-tier firms pay a visit to the institute for recruiting purposes. Amazon, Microsoft, Zomato, DeShaw, and Yodlee being some of the top names amongst many others. In 2021 placements the average CTC offered at the institute was 8 LPA, and the highest CTC offered was 44 LPA. While the median CTC offered at NIT Puducherry was 6 LPA. By only looking at the stats, it is quite clear that NIT Durgapur is better than NIT Puducherry.Read more

Ques. Which is better: chemical engineering at NIT Trichy or computer science at NIT Durgapur?

Ans. It would be better to opt for Chemical Engineering at NIT Trichy. The institute will offer you a better faculty, upgraded infrastructure, a better peer group, and superior placements. If you are genuinely interested in chemical engineering then you have a lot of scope in NIT Trichy. NIT Trichy is more developed as compared to the other NITs and offers a lot of exposure. Choose this branch only if you will further go for higher education in Chemical Engineering. The job opportunities right after graduation are very less and it would be difficult. However, if you are concerned about placements, then CSE will be the suitable option as the branch has a lot of opportunities. Read more

Mechanical/Electrical Engineering is superior to Production Engineering because Mechanical engineers can apply for jobs in the field of Production, whereas Production engineers cannot apply for core Mechanical jobs. So, instead of selecting Production, I will recommend Mechanical /Electrical at NIT Durgapur in this case. Here is a brief outline of NIT Durgapur. Ans. I can only provide you with some basic facts about Thapar University. As some of my friends are from NITs, I can assure you that NIT Jamshedpur is definitely a good choice for Metallurgy. It is an institution of national importance under the MHRD. The faculty members are good there. As far as placements are concerned, Tata Steel, Vedanta, Hindalco, etc. are some of the top recruiting companies. You can also sit for placements in IT firms and organizations. Metallurgy is one of the oldest branches all over India. It has great alumni support. 'Technica' is the oldest branch fest of NIT Jamshedpur. The new AC furnished labs on the campus are well maintained. Jamshedpur has enough industrial and research exposure through TATA Steel and National Metallurgical Laboratory.
