Ques. Which institute is better to study M.Sc Physics, Presidency University or the University of Burdwan?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 28 Sept 21

Ans. The Physics department at Presidency University has a number of specializations and the students pursuing M.Sc need to make dissertations as well. A lot of my friends studied at Presidency University and it is definitely better than the University of Burdwan. The scientific exposure Presidency University provides to its students is more efficient than that provided by the University of Burdwan despite having a qualified and experienced faculty. Presidency University also has tie-ups with foreign universities. The University of Burdwan has collaborations with funding agencies like UGC, DST, CSIR, ISRO, BRNS, etc. and the faculties have obtained the research projects individually. Presidency University is also very prestigious and is often the first choice for anyone for a number of streams. Read more

Ques. Which college is better for English Honours among Christ University, Bangalore and Presidency University, Kolkata?

● Top Answer By Praver Katyal on 29 Jul 21

Ans. Presidency University Kolkata is a well-established and much-reputed college than Christ University Bangalore. Presidency holds a reputation and legacy of its own and the English department at the university is definitely one of the best in Kolkata. Its history can be traced to at least 1828, so guessing by it, you can make an estimate of how rich heritage and value it holds. Presidency University will provide you with better options for higher studies and research. Categories Presidency University Christ University Bangalore Course Fee 13,600 2.6 lakhs Course Duration 3 years 3 years Highest CTC 11 LPA - Average CTC 8 LPA 3.56 LPA If you want to pursue your English Honors definitely opt for Presidency University Kolkata. They have a great and highly educated faculty. Their infrastructure is well maintained and the student crowd is approachable and cooperative.Read more

Ques. Which one is better: St. Xavier's in Kolkata's economics department or Presidency University in Kolkata's economics department?

● Top Answer By Komal Chawla on 29 Jul 21

Ans. It depends on you and what your career goal is. If jobs are what you aspire to, then St. Xavier’s will be a good choice. In case you are looking for legacy, reputation, and departmental history, and you want to boast of some old-school ultra-elitism across Kolkata, Presidency is the place to be. Presidency University is going under lots of variations when it comes to curriculum and the teaching methodology. The addition of Presidency Kolkata Economics in your CV in India is an unparalleled one. As the Presidency University is going under transition for good. But, Xavier’s economics department still has an edge over the Presidency's department in terms of faculty and syllabus. Categories Presidency University St. Xavier’s Kolkata Total Course Fee 6150 rupees 2.91 Lakhs Course Duration 3 years 3 years Highest CTC 13 LPA 17.5 LPA Average CTC 7-8 LPA 6 LPA Both colleges have an equal legacy and are very popular all over the country. If you get admission in any of these institutions, you should just go for it. Be it placements or higher studies, you will have opportunities for both.Read more

Ques. Is there any sort of ragging in Presidency University Kolkata?

● Top Answer By Komal Chawla on 19 Jul 21

Ans. My brother studies at Presidency University and as a PG student, he can vouch that ragging is prohibited inside the campus. Added to this are policies against casteism, sexism, racism, and other violations against humanity and dignity. The campus is very liberal and you won't find students with judgemental or offensive thoughts. Presidency even has several student bodies like PUCASH for the address of complaints related to sexual harassment. There is a UGC prescribed anti-ragging cell as well which is quite active. The students there are more intellectually oriented and do not perform petty actions. Presidency University will help you to grow and advance your potential through competitions, workshops, and even the fears here with unlimited opportunities to flourish and showcase your creative and theatrical skills.Read more

Ques. Should I choose NIT Rourkela for an Integrated Msc in Physics or a Bsc in Physics at St. Stephen’s Delhi, St. Xavier’s or Presidency University Kolkata?

● Top Answer By Kanu Priya on 13 Jul 21

Ans. All the newly established colleges are doing as well too as the older established colleges. So, choosing any among NIT Rourkela, St. Stephen’s Delhi, St. Xavier’s, or Presidency University Kolkata would be a boon for you. But, it is suggested that you go to St Stephen’s College Delhi. One of my friends studied there and according to him, it was really good. The crowd in the national capital is really good. The faculty of the department is well qualified and highly reputed. One recommendation letter from a professor here could land you in a nice university abroad, for your future endeavors. You can also apply for scholarships and each worthy student has the opportunity of getting a number of awards. The campus so far is well maintained and only around 1200 students are present in the college. Lesser people compared to other Delhi University colleges. Furthermore, there are multiple societies and you get a lot of time to do studies and have a platform for various extracurricular activities. Though Integrated M.Sc according to me is not a very suitable option as you will be fixed to one place for a long 5 years but again your plans may change once to get more exposure and get to know other opportunities available to you. So think wisely before settling down.Read more
