LLM at Calcutta University is offered through two colleges, the Department of Law, C.U., and Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri Law College. It is 2-year full-time program with a total intake of 40 students each academic year. Calcutta University LLM Reservation Criteria

The reservation criteria is as follows:

  • 80% of the seats are reserved for University of Calcutta students with BA LLB degree and 20% of seats are for other university students.
  • Out of 80 and 20 percent count, Fifty percent (50%) of the total number of seats in the 1st Year shall be reserved for B.A.LL.B (Hons.) candidates of this university, the remaining seats are filled on the basis of the scores obtained in the Entrance Test. 
  • There are a total of 138 seats out of which 110 seats are for internal students (including 55 seats for BA LLB (Hons) candidates and 55 seats for BA LLB students). 28 seats are for external students (including the 14 seats for (Hons) and 14 for BA LLB (General)).
  • Reservation of Seats for SC, ST, OBC and PWD candidates will be as per University rules.
