West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences (WBUAFS) was established in 1995. It offers UG, PG and Ph.D. courses in the field of veterinary and animal sciences, dairy sciences and fishery sciences. Admission to most of the UG courses is done on the basis of the WBJEE entrance examination. Eligibility for these courses is 10 + 2 passed from a recognized board. For PG courses, the selection of candidates is done on the basis of a written test followed by a personal interview. Admission to Ph.D. programs is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination. Eligibility for PG and Ph.D. courses are graduation and postgraduation passed in a relevant field.

West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences Admission

  • Admission to most of the UG courses is done on the basis of the WBJEE Entrance examination. While admission to others is done on the basis of merit in the previous qualifying examination.
  • Eligibility for UG courses is 10 + 2 passed from a recognized board.
  • For PG courses, candidates must have completed their graduation in a relevant field. Admission to PG courses is based on the written test conducted by the university followed by the personal interview.
  • For Ph.D. programs, the candidates need to have a master’s degree in a relevant field to be eligible for them. The selection to Ph.D. courses is done on the basis of merit in the previous qualifying examination.

How to Apply?

  • Log in to the official university’s website.
  • Download the application form and fill in the details correctly with all the information required of the previous examination, marks obtained, etc.
  • Upload the necessary scanned documents.
  • Pay registration fees of Rs. 500/- for general category students and Rs. 250/- for the SC/ST/OBC/PWD.
  • As per the list of eligible students prepared by the WBUAFS, the candidate needs to appear in the university for further Counselling, written-test, or personal interview as per the degree.

WBUAFS Facilities

  • Hostel: WBUAFS offers hostel facilities for both boys and girls. The allotment of seats in the hostels will be made under the instruction of Dean, Students’ Welfare of the University.
  • Library: The Central Library contains 23,793 printed books, 235 e-books, and various Journals. It supports the students and faculty in gaining knowledge and university projects and research that is a part of the curriculum. Wi-Fi and internet facilities are available in the library premises to access the required information by the members on the computers and also there is a printing facility available.
  • Medical Facility: The campus has a medical facility for the well-being of its students and staff and medical assistance is provided as and when required to them.
