What students say about PES University - [PESU]

Likes

  • In this college, all teachers are qualified and experienced. Some teachers are the best, while others are arrogant in nature.
  • Pesit is known for the placements. They have the best of the best companies coming to college.
  • The placements have been excellent, and it is said that PES University is the place where students get the best opportunity to be placed in a company.
  • When I joined the university in 2018, the fees were 3,20,000. Now, I think they have increased the fee to 5,00,000. Teaching and placements (for CSE) are excellent, but there are zero opportunities for sports. It lacks the minimum infrastructure to even be called a University.
  • Excellent! Campus life was beautiful. For each course, there are separate labs. The sports department hosts competitions for each department separately.
  • I have not opted for the hostel, and the hostel has plenty of seats as most of the students in our college are from our seats. It has good infrastructure, and the food is good. The PG rental near our college is affordable.
  • There is no option for cash payment of fees in the college. It would be better if they accept cash for reservation benefits. By doing so, you can gain knowledge, make the best memories, and achieve your dream life there.

Dislike

  • The course and syllabus in VTU are very much outdated. The course study was all about marks, and scoring marks in VTU, according to me, is just about mugging up the entire syllabus.
  • The placement for mechanical is very poor; hardly 20% of the students are placed.
  • They used to offer scholarships to students who got in through CET and are particularly poor.
  • Labs are the best, but the infrastructure sucks for the students who dream of playing sports. Its not that its not well maintained also. There is no place to play sports. Its too small, around 30 acres.
  • The authorities are dead strict and always frame insensible and vague rules that irritate the hell out of you.
  • College management is quite strict. The only drawback in this college is poor internet connectivity, which is sometimes very frustrating. Also, some of the rules for the girls are extremely harsh.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I opted for computer science and engineering because this is an emerging course with an AI specialization. the teachers here are supportive, you can contact them any time and the placements here for CSE are too good

Remarks:

you must be eligible to write pessat exam for which on the 12Th you need to score 70% application form is there on the college website the exam is the same as comedk. prepare for jee mains you can ace it easily

Placement Experience:

In engineering college, all students are eligible to apply for Jobs in the 7th semester. Many technical and core companies visited our college namely bosch, Mercedes, Toyota, Ashok leyland etc The average was 4lakh and the highest was 7 lakh approx The mechanical placement of students is a bit low compared to CS branches, around 50-60% were placed. I am going abroad for masters

Remarks:

I got a mechanical branch on merit via the CET exam. Application forms and fees and dates can be found on college websites. The admission process is very good as it was one the top college's in Bangalore and highly maintained

Placement Experience:

Students in the final year are eligible for internships and campus placement. Students in the third and second years are eligible for only internships. Various companies like Infosys, cisco, morgan Stanley, Goldmann Sachs, Samsung and around 200+ companies come to campus for placements. The highest package that has come in my batch was around 30lpa and the average package of 9lpa. Around 90+% students are into some or the other companies. My plans after getting a degree are to have workable experience at it companies and then pursue a master's.

Remarks:

I had taken a KCET entrance exam which had of cutoff ranking of 2000 for qualifying in pes electricity campus for computer science engineering. The admission process requires you to show your kcet marks sheet which needs to be asserted along with your 10th and 12th-grade mark sheet. Once the required documents along with passport photos are submitted I had to pay a fee of 1,10,000 in the form of a demand draft to the admission office. Once done they assigned me a unique roll number and some goodies. Later I had to collect my id card on the day PES university starts. Improvement that can be done is to pay fees via online neft (which has been implemented now).
