Amity University B.Arch Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be qualified with one of the following:

  • 50% in 10+2 with 50% in PCM + qualified score of NATA or JEE Main (Paper 2) or UPSEE (Paper 3) of the current year.

OR

  • 10+3 Diploma with Math (aggregate min. 50%) + qualified score of NATA or JEE Main (Paper 2) or UPSEE (Paper 3) of the current year. Aggregate percentage will be calculated on the basis of marks scored in English and three academic subjects (excluding second language, Physical Education, Fine Arts, Performing Arts or any other Vocational /Non-Written subjects).

For foreign / NRI applicants, the following are the requirements:

  • 50% in 10+2 with 50% in PCM

OR

  • 10+3 Diploma with Math (aggregate min. 50%
  • 60 (out of 120) TOEFL Score in iBT

OR

  • IELTS Band 6.5
  • Evidence of required academic performance must be in the form of certified English transcripts listing all the courses with grades / marks earned.

Students should have passed all the subjects of class XII from a recognized board.

Amity University B.Arch Admission Criteria 

The university admits candidates solely on a merit basis. The initial selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of their academic performance and NATA / JEE Main (Paper 2) / UPSEE (Paper 3) scores. Once shortlisted, the candidates will have to go through the university selection process which consists of an English language test and a personal interview. Eligible candidates can also join Amity University on lateral entry into the IIIrd or Vth semester. Candidates with a backlog will not be considered for lateral admission.

How to apply for Amity University B.Arch?

Given below are the instructions for applying for admission:

Step 1: Obtain the admissions packet. The admissions packet costs Rs 1100 and can be obtained:

  • Online (www.amity.edu) by payment through credit card/debit card/PayTM
  • By downloading free and submitting with DD of Rs. 1,100/- in favour of 'Amity Form' payable at New Delhi. Do not forget to mention your Name & Amity Application Form Number at the back of the Demand Draft.
  • At any of the Amity campuses in Noida, Greater Noida, Lucknow, Jaipur, Gurugram (Manesar), Gwalior, Mumbai, Raipur, Ranchi, Kolkata & Patna or Amity Information Centers. (for list please visit www.amity.edu)

Step 2: Complete the application form

  • Fill in the application form only if you meet the requirements of the specific program you are applying to. If you have appeared for a qualifying examination and are awaiting the result, you can apply provisionally to go through the admission process at your own risk.
  • If you are using the downloaded forms or the forms obtained at the Amity campus / Amity Information Centers you are required to fill up the same in your own handwriting in black ink. You must also sign the undertaking.
  • It is mandatory to provide your email address as it will be used by the Admissions Office for any further communication.
  • You must also enclose / upload a passport size photograph (latest) and 10th-grade mark sheet with the Application Form. No other Mark sheets / Testimonials are to be attached with the application form at this stage. Only Foreign students / Foreign University Degree holders / NRI students should attach photocopies of academic transcripts and AIU (Association of Indian Universities) Equivalence Certificate. University / Board / Marks filled in the Application Form will be considered for all procedures related to admission. Any discrepancy found during the verification of original documents will result in the cancellation of Admission.
  • The university will not entertain any changes made to the Application Form, under any circumstances. Therefore, you are advised to strictly follow the guidelines mentioned in the Application Form.

Step 3: Submit the Application Form:

  • Candidates applying for admission using the online form can submit the application online. Those using the downloaded forms or the forms obtained at the Amity campus / Amity Information Centers must enclose the passport size photograph along with the marksheet and submit / send it to the following address:

  • Incomplete forms will be rejected by the university and the form cost will not be refunded for any reason whatsoever.

Step 4: Visit the Admission Microsite

  • Once the Application Form has been submitted, you can log in to the Admission Microsite using the form number and password printed on the first page of the Application Form.
  • You can check whether your form has been received and the registration status of your form. After confirmation on your Admission microsite about the receipt of your form, it will normally be processed within 3 to 5 working days.
  • You can check whether you have been shortlisted for the selection process.
  • If shortlisted, you can choose the date you wish to appear for the selection process.
  • Download the admit card and appear for the selection process.

Step 5: Appear for the Selection Process

Qualifying candidates will be informed about the date, time and venue of the selection process on the admission microsite. No separate communication will be sent in this regard. The admission process may last till late in the evening and therefore, you are advised to plan for travel and accommodation. Due to the pandemic, the selection process has been modified. The process currently entails video responses to the questions posted through the video link on the Admission Microsite.

Step 6: Offer of Admission

  • A message will be sent to you to intimate the announcement of the result on your Admission microsite.
  • All selected candidates will get an intimation of their selection through an Admission Letter which can be printed from the Admission microsite.
  • The admission letter will include details regarding the payment of fees at the time of admission, allotment of hostel and date, time and venue for commencement of the academic year.

The instructions for lateral admissions are as follows:

  1. Fill the online application form for lateral admission (www.amity.edu/lateral) and pay a fee of Rs 1100 through credit card / debit card / PayTM.
  2. Upload self-attested copies of all relevant mark sheets from class X till the last completed semester / year.
  3. You must also upload the detailed course structure till the last completed semester / year for course mapping/
  4. You are requested to obtain the No Objection certificate from the parent university and must produce it at the time of joining.

Amity University B.Arch Course Details

  • The course curriculum for one year is taught in two semesters of 17-18 weeks each. Students have the option of learning from a list of foreign languages during their IInd - VIth semesters.
  • In the VIIth and VIIIth semesters, students have the option of choosing their preferred elective courses.
  • Students have to complete the practical training as part of their 5th year (semesters IX and X) course work. The practical training carries a total of 20 credits per semester.

End-Term Evaluation:

Students are assessed at regular intervals. 30% weightage is allotted to continuous / internal assessment which covers a range of evaluation components such as class test, quiz, case discussion / presentation / analysis, home assignment, project, seminar, term paper, attendance, etc. The remaining 70% is allotted to the end-term examination.

B Arch Attendance Requirements:

Students need to maintain a minimum of 75% attendance in all the lectures, tutorials, seminars and practicals arranged for the course during a particular semester, to be allowed to appear in the examinations.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course allows us to be creative, and spend more time with the outer world. There's always something new coming up every other day which makes it even more interesting and less monotonous. One professor is allotted for every 20 students. The professors should be atleat M.Arch level qualified or Masters / Ph.D. in any other subdomain (eg: Masters in Urban Design) The exams are held after every 6 months and the difficulty level is Intermediate.
