Ques. Which is better VIT or Tezpur University?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 20 Oct 21

Ans. One of my cousins was in the same situation. He had very few options, mainly VIT, Tezpur University, and few NITs. He did some research and found that Tezpur University is considered the best central government institute. After talking to some students of the institute he also learned that the institute is great although the placement rate is not that good. It is a decent option if you want to pursue research.  His focus was placements. So, he chose VIT, Chennai and now he is a proud alumnus of the institute.  Here is a brief comparison of Tezpur University and VIT. Parameters Tezpur University  VIT  Course fee  2.11 lakhs  7.83 lakhs  Average CTC  3.5 LPA 6.39 LPA  Highest CTC  14 LPA  44 LPA  Major recruiters  HDFC, ICICI, Axis Bank HP, Infosys, Microsoft So, choose an institute based on what you want out of your degree. Read more

Ques. Which would be better, VIT CSE or NIT Puducherry electrical engineering?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 01 Oct 21

Ans. VIT CSE is better in terms of placements, industry exposure, opportunities, and many other things as compared to NIT Puducherry Electrical. According to the recent placement highlights of VIT, the average CTC offered was 6 LPA and the highest CTC offered was 75 LPA.  On the other hand, NIT Puducherry is a Govt. college. It changes less course fee. For a B.E degree, NIT Puducherry charges around 2.17 lakhs, while a B.Tech from VIT will cost around 8 lakhs. The peer group at the institute is great. You will also have the NIT tag with your degree. That is certainly a perk of pursuing a degree at NIT Puducherry.  However, you should choose the institute based on your interest. If you like coding go for VIT CSE, or if you like basic sciences more than NIT Puducherry Electrical Engineering will be a better option for you.Read more

Ques. Which is better, VIT Chennai or IET Lucknow?

● Top Answer By Sandhya R on 05 Aug 21

Ans. Both the colleges VIT Chennai and IET Lucknow are good. I can give you some information about the institutes as I have some friends from both campuses. VIT: VIT Chennai has a very good infrastructure and many clubs, good faculty and you will get great exposure there. But, the placement you get is not up to the mark as compared to the fees you pay. The overall expenses including fees are near about 13 lakhs and the average package is around 6 lakhs. I would suggest not to look for top placement as it has a huge batch of students. The ones who get high packages utilize the best of college. If you think that you can do better and you have no financial problem go for VIT or else IET is not a bad option. IET: IET has a healthy environment as the students coming to the college are very talented. Though in IET, very few classes are conducted if you want to give exams like CAT, GRE, GATE, or any other then IET is best for this. At IET you will be free most of the time so you can do whatever you want to do.  Also, IET is a government college and it doesn’t cost too much.  According to the recent placement highlights the median CTC offered at the institute is 5 LPA. I hope this helps you in deciding between the two. Read more

Ques. What should be my decision to join if I have 2 opportunities, VIT Chennai ECE or Amrita Bangalore CSE groups?

● Top Answer By Janvi Bhambri on 19 Jul 21

Ans. ECE and CSE are two different departments, providing separate career opportunities. VIT Chennai and Amrita University Bangalore offer decent placement to students in these departments. The points below give a brief overview of both the choices: In CSE, there are excellent package offers in institutes like Amrita and VIT, thus increasing your chance of getting a good salary at the beginning of your career. ECE is a stream of a kind, which has its own charm. In ECE, students grow slowly with time and earn decent salaries, provided they are passionate about the field of work. ECE in VIT Chennai is a great department, having a world-class infrastructure. The curriculum is at par with the industry needs. The professors at VIT Chennai are connected to the industry and other academic institutes to aid in research. All major electronics companies visit the campus of VIT Chennai for placement. Almost 20% of the students in the department get a package above 10 LPA in general from companies like Samsung, TI, Nutanix, etc. A major percentage of about 70-80% of students in ECE at VIT Chennai get a package between 5-8 LPA. Companies like Cisco, Intel, Wipro VLSI, Arista Networks offer salaries in this range. There are also some non-tech companies like Deloitte, E&Y, Bank of America, PWC, Wells Fargo, etc that recruit students from ECE. In VIT Chennai, there are very few students who opt for job offers in service-based companies like TCS, Accenture, Infosys, CTS, etc. Therefore, both ECE at VIT Chennai and CSE at Amrita Bangalore are good options. It is the choice of the student as to what excites him/her the most and opts for a degree in the same.Read more

Ques. Which college is better: VIT Chennai or KIIT?

● Top Answer By Monika on 30 Jun 21

Ans. A few of my friends graduated from VIT Chennai and KIIT and here are some insight from their experience which may be of help. KIIT will be a better choice just because it's the main campus, the placements are almost at par and you get more freedom to enjoy college life. But VIT does have an edge over many things, and even if you go to VIT Chennai, the placement opportunities will be the same. Here are the recent placement statistics for the institutes. Particulars VIT Chennai KIIT Highest CTC INR 41.6 LPA INR. 30 LPA Average CTC INR 7.3 LPA INR. 6 LPA Top recruiters Infosys, Accenture, Deloitte TCS, Capgemini, Wipro Consider other factors as well, things like which is nearer to your home town, where are your friends going, the fee structure, the branch you are taking, etcRead more
