Ques. Which one should I choose, PGPM Great Lakes, SIIB Pune or NMIMS Hyderabad?
● Top Answer By Niharika Gandhi on 29 Jul 21
Ans.Based on what I heard from my friends at these institutes, I will say choose GLIM PGDM. The course is great and over the years it gained popularity. SIIB will also be a good option if you plan to major in international business.
For placement wise GLIM offers you a wide range of companies from much-diversified backgrounds for a 2 years program, unlike the 1 year where a majority of IT companies visit. You will receive the same placement opportunities as the PGPM program as the school allows PGDM guys to sit for companies for PGPM unless specified by the company on an experience basis. Here are the recent placement highlights for GLIM PGDM.
Top recruiting sectors
FMCG, IT/ITES, Consulting
No of PPOs offered
Your preference order should be GLIM PGPM> SIIB> NMIMS Hyderabad based on the overall ranking, brand values, and placements.Read more
Ques. I got 180 in NMAT. will I get NMIMS Hyderabad?
● Top Answer By Shilpa Nayak on 07 Jul 21
Ans.The cut-off required for NMIMS Hyderabad is around 220+ and if you have scored 180 marks in NMAT, then it will be very difficult for you to get admission in NMIMS Hyderabad.
But, if you don't want to attempt NMAT again, then you can apply for other colleges where NMAT scores are accepted such as Athena School of Management, IBS Mumbai.
Athena School of Management is a popular institute, located in Mumbai. The placements are very good. Students also get the chance to do multiple internships during the course duration. According to the recent placement highlights the average CTC offered to the students is around 8 LPA. You will also be offered a scholarship worth more than lakhs if you have an academic record.
With a 180 NMAT score, the chance of getting admission at NMIMS Hyderabad is quite thin. Either you have to attempt the NMAT exam again or apply to other colleges that accept NMAT scores.Read more
Ques. Is it worth taking admission in NMIMS, Hyderabad if I don't have any other call from a good MBA/PGDM institute?
● Top Answer By Keshav Jindal on 05 Jul 21
Ans.Yes, NMIMS Hyderabad can be considered to be a good option for students who have no other offer from good MBA/PGDM institutes elsewhere. NMIMS Hyderabad is an average-rated college, which offers decent placement packages.
The points below give a brief overview of NMIMS Hyderabad and clarify which level of aspirants should opt for a degree from the institute.
If you are interested in an MBA, you should choose institutes based on your future goals and the kind of institutes you want to study in.
If you want admission in one of the top-3 IIMs, NMIMS is nowhere a satisfactory option for you. But, if you want one of the top-15 colleges for an MBA, NMIMS Mumbai is definitely a good option.
NMIMS Hyderabad and NMIMS Bangalore functions independently, and are nowhere close to NMIMS Mumbai in any aspect.
NMIMS Hyderabad's process of placement, professors, exposure, facilities, brand name, administration, academics, etc are nowhere similar to that of NMIMS Mumbai.
NMIMS Mumbai is one of the best tier-2 colleges in India for MBA. But, even for students targeting the top-15 institutes, NMIMS Hyderabad is not at all a decent option.
For candidates who will be satisfied with a ?6-7 LPA average-level manager job with some amount of exposure, NMIMS Hyderabad is a good option.
Therefore, it is quite obvious that NMIMS Hyderabad is a decent option for students with no other good offers, being an institute that offers a good percentage of placements.Read more
Ques. What are the chances of getting a call from NMIMS Mumbai or Hyderabad with 170 score & 2 years of work experience as well as a postgraduate degree in Commerce?
● Top Answer By Sayantani Barman on 24 Jun 21
Ans.NMIMS Mumbai and Hyderabad are both on the high cut-off list due to their popular demand.
Looking at previous data from a few years back NMIMS Mumbai accepted students with scores of 190 and NMIMS Hyderabad accepted students with scores of 170.
But due to the heavy competition and demand of Mumbai and Hyderabad, the cut off has risen with time.
The previous year’s records state that the cut-off for NMIMS Mumbai was 207 to around 212.
The cutoff for NMIMS Hyderabad was around 190.
Both of the cut off exceed the score you have mentioned in the question. Moreover, NMIMS does not consider work experience if the score is below the cut-off. It only accepts work experience if they cleared the cut-off. It is kept as the second criteria.Read more
Ques. Is it worth going to NMIMS Hyderabad for MBA (with regard to ROI)? Is dropping this year and appearing for the CAT next year a better option?
● Top Answer By Admin on 23 Jun 21
Ans.Among all the campuses, NMIMS Mumbai is considered to be the best of all. If you do not wish to drop a year then you may go for NMIMS Hyderabad.
Taking a year drop has risks associated with it but choosing the right college for a better career option needs to be given thought too.
If you are confident about excelling in your CAT exam after taking a drop then go for it.
You might as well prepare for exams like IIFT, NMAT, XAT, etc.
However, you should weigh the pros and cons before deciding on anything. Ultimately it is your decision whether you want to appear for the exam or join an institution without dropping a year.Read more
