Dеlhi Pharmacеutical Sciеncеs and Research Univеrsity (DPSRU) is the first Pharmacy University in India and third in the world. It was еstablishеd in 1964 with D Pharma in Polytechnic. Later in 1972 it was formed as a College of Pharmacy and then Delhi Institute of Pharmacеutical Sciеncеs and Research(DIPSAR) in 2094 which later converted into DPSRU. DPSRU is managеd by thе Govеrnmеnt of Delhi, India. Administration is mentored by the General Council along with Honorable Lt Governor as the chancellor. DPSRU develops to create the State of the Art infrastructure in thе fiеld of pharmaceutical education and rеsеarch.

  • DPSRU comprises around 2600 students with 90 faculty and 136 supporting staff members.

Application Process

Admission to DPSRU is a completely online program. Candidates can apply for multiple courses based on their qualifications and choices. Admissions strictly depend on the aggregate marks obtained on the specific subject the candidate is willing to enroll. Following are selections criteria for different courses offered by DPSRU 

  • Candidates applying for degree courses offered by DPSRU should be of minimum age of 17 years on or before 31 st December 2023.
  • Final selection for MBA Pharmaceutical Management (MBA- PM)/ MBA - International Trade Management (MBA- ITM)/ MBA Healthcare & Hospital Management (MBA- HHM) is based on the criteria such as 60% Graduation Marks, 20% Personal Interview and 20% Group discussions.
  • For lateral entry in undergraduate courses admission will be executed on the basis of marks obtained on 1st and 2nd year of D Pharma.
  • Candidates willing for admission in one of the following courses in Bachelor such as B Pharm, D Pharma, B Pharm ( Ayu), BBA in Healthcare, BMLT, DMLT should possess a Marksheet with an aggregate of 55% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics.

  • Hostel: DPSRU offers separate boys and girls hostels .
  • Library: DPSRU has a fully air conditioning library covering a read of 4400 sq ft with a reading area of 2000 sq ft. It was established in 1979 with almost 17000 books including all books in pharmaceutical science. It is also equipped with basic science like pharmacy, medicine, biology, Microbiology. DPSRU is considered as one of the richest libraries in India.
  • Central Instrumentation Library: DPSRU Central Instrumentation Library is fully equipped with all the specialized equipment in the research field.
  • Animal House: Institute has a fully air conditioning animal house covering a carpet area of 1000 sq ft in accordance with CPCSEA protocol.

DPSRU Scholarships

DPSRU is a State University of Govt. Of NCT of Delhi. Students of DPSRU are provided scholarships from GNCTD. It is done through e-district portal, Central Govt through National Scholarships Portal and from AICTE and other Govt. funding organizations such as UGC, ICMR, DST-INSPIRE, DST, DBT, CSIR, NFST. DPSRU also assists students for applying non Government funded scholarships such as Indian Pharmaceutical Association.

Application Process for Scholarships 

  •  Students eligible for the scholarship have to apply through online application as per the policy and schedule mentioned in the advertisement. 
  • Students have to submit the request letter to the scholarship incharge DPSRU/ DIPSAR with the copy of the application along with all necessary documents including bank details. 
  • Later applications will be verified from DPSRU/ DIPSAR through a funding agency e- portal.
