It was my dream to pursue a degree from abroad and explore a new city. The USA is the most common city to study in. I applied to 4-5 universities there and luckily got selected in 3 of them. Finally, I decided to opt for the University of Washington because my parents want me to do so. I have applied online for admission which was worth $85.

    Fees :

The fee which I have to pay is $38000 for the tuition and some $2000 for other daily needs.

The first thing I thought about when choosing a college was its marching band. In high school, I was a member of a core-style marching band. Every year we would spend weeks before school started at band camp to pour our efforts into a unique performance. We competed with other high schools and had tons of fun. Marching band was the highlight of my high school career, and I knew I had to keep being involved. The UW stood out to me for this reason. On top of its great location and academic prowess, it has one of the most entertaining college bands in the country. I applied for 3 other schools in Washington, but I knew this was my first choice. Luckily, my high school prepared me well for the application process and I was not worried. With a 3.8 GPA and AP test scores, I was sure to be accepted. Getting into the UW was exciting because I knew I would continue to pursue my musical interests as well as my academic ones.

    Fees :

There are scholarships available for many students on campus. The international student center probably has a lot of that information. There are many scholarships for minorities and other groups. Tuition fees increase every year but financial aid is available. I was awarded a scholarship through my major by the art history department. A great way to get scholarships is to use your good academics. That way you can apply with the work you have already done till this point.

University of Washington Seattle is a highly renowned college, known for both its academics and sports, as well as setting students up for their futures, particularly in STEM fields. I chose the UW because it's close to home and I was lucky enough to be accepted into the school.

    Fees :

Tuition fees are fair for an in-state student. There's also the housing fee, which is quite pricey since my school does housing through a separate branch/company. Additional course fees can be about $20-$150 depending on what class you take and what equipment is used, and textbooks/materials can be even more.

It is a very highly respected college. My parents always wanted me to go to this college, and it is close to home. People who go to this college are able to obtain employment easily because they tend to be highly educated.

    Fees :

Books are around $825. Room and board run around $11,000. Tuition and fees are about $10,000 for in-state. Other expenses for me were around $3000.

At the time I wanted to go into nursing and UW has one of the best nursing programs in the country, with some of the best hospitals nearby for clinical (including Seattle Children's, UWMC). My mom also wanted to move back to our old house in Seattle.

    Fees :

You pay every quarter, tuition includes a bussing fee that covers an unlimited amount of times you can use the public bus during the school year, and the housing fee (if you choose to live in a dorm or were given one before they ridiculously ran out of space) and the required food plan if you live in a dorm.

Because I got in. Originally, I had planned to transfer to Western Washington University. However, after a campus visit to UW, I was in love (like many) with the campus and decided I at least wanted to apply. After hearing back, I decided I wanted to give it a shot.

    Fees :

Tuition is the biggest fee. There is also a quarterly fee for a quarterly bus pass. The next largest expense is off-campus housing.

I wanted a large university experience because of the number of resources and research opportunities there are for a vast majority of majors. I don't know what I want to major in so going to the University of Washington is a good way to explore.

Tuition and fees, transportation pass (orca card), housing, dining, textbooks, online homework, supplies.
