Lawrence University First Year Admission Deadlines

Lawrence University International Student Admissions

Lawrence University only accepts undergraduate students for admission. A GPA of 3.5 or above is recommended for international students planning to apply at this university.

Visa process for international students

International students who wish to study in the USA need to apply for a student visa. Usually, after accepting applications, universities issue an i-20 form required to obtain a student visa. To generate an i-20 form from Lawrence University, the following documents are required:

  • Official financial records (within the last six months) showing proof of adequate funds. A financial statement can be in the form of bank statements, retirement plans (e.g., an IRA) or salary slips of sponsors.
  • Sponsor’s Affidavit of Financial Support. All sponsors will be required to sign a sponsor’s affidavit of financial support and provide financial statements.
  • Official passport copy.

Once Lawrence University issues the i-20 form, students are required to file an F-1 or J-1 student visa application and pay the SEVIS fee which is 350 USD. To pay the SEVIS fee, a student should provide a passport, i-20 form and credit or debit card.

Students should then fill up the I-901 and pay the fee before contacting the US Embassy/Consulate for a VISA appointment. The documents required to apply for an F-1 student visa are as follows:

  • A valid passport that is active approximately 6 months beyond the student’s stay in the US

Lawrence University Transfer Admission

Lawrence University is a transfer-friendly institution and international students can resume their degree at Lawrence after they have completed the required credits at their home university. However, it is required that the degree the candidate was pursuing is equivalent to a degree they are applying to at Lawrence University. The requirements for transfer admission are as follows:
