My life at the UW

G
9.7 /10

It is a very highly respected college. My parents always wanted me to go to this college, and it is close to home. People who go to this college are able to obtain employment easily because they tend to be highly educated.

Course Curriculum :

I find the curriculum very thorough. It is very hands on so you can get an idea of what it would be like to work in the field. You do a lot of clinical at hospitals around the area so that you can actually have the real-life experiences you wouldn't get in a classroom.

Exams :

My SAT score was 1083 and my ACT score was 25. I also took the freshman admissions exam and I scored high on as well.

Placement :

The placement job opportunities are outstanding. This college is very highly renowned and it is very easy to get a job in your field. Most students are hired directly out of their internships, it is a growing field and very high in demand.

Internship :

Yes, there is a required internship for the MD program. I haven't undertaken it, but I have heard that it is very long and rigorous. I am a bit apprehensive, but also excited. I know that it is necessary to do this in order to be well qualified for the job.

Events :

There are many charity events that I participate in. We do lots of fundraisers and community service projects. Students are frequently celebrated for their academic achievements. There are honors ceremonies.

Fees :

Books are around $825. Room and board run around $11,000. Tuition and fees are about $10,000 for in-state. Other expenses for me were around $3000.

Scholarship :

Yes if you would like scholarships they can be granted to you depending on your academic achievements. Another way is to apply for scholarships that are unique to you or your demographic. I have federal student loans that I got by applying for FAFSA, they are low interest and you do not pay until you graduate. I also receive financial aid from sally May.

Examination Structure :

The exam structure could use some work in my opinion. I believe they are not enough exams. The exams are very important for measuring where students are in the learning process so that improvements can be made to the curriculum.

Faculty :

I think the faculty at my college is very well qualified professionals. They are all highly educated in their field. They have the real world experience that builds their knowledge and skill set to the point where they make it look easy.

Hostel :

I am currently staying in a dorm and my parents are paying my room and board. Honestly, it is hard to manage my expenses because I am essentially broke. I have a part-time job, but that hardly makes me any money, and I am so busy with school I can hardly work.
