A Well Rounded Institution

Great reputation and cost. I was so impressed by how kind and welcoming the faculty were when I went to visit and this held true to all the great things I had heard about UW?s strong support system. I received a great funding package as well.

Course Curriculum :

It's well balanced and fair. There are always so many course options and I appreciate how we are required to take a variety of courses that cover the sciences and arts. The courses range from easy to difficult.

Exams :

SAT and GRE exams. I did not score very high on either, but I later read that these scores are less important for people going to English and humanities programs vs STEM fields

Fees :

We pay semester fees, usually around 500-600 dollars. These cover the cost of student services, health services, a bus pass, and gym access. The other major cost books.

Examination Structure :

I don't take exams because I am a graduate student. I did have to take two language exams for my program and they were translation exams. I took them when I wanted and they lasted an hour, which consisted of me translating a passage from one language into another.

Faculty :

The faculty are well established and brilliant! I always feel heard and respected. I cannot speak for all departments, but the English department has been especially warm and supporting.
