Madison review

Yes, I wanted to go to this school because it was my top choice. I liked the program that was offered there as well as all the research opportunities. It was also the main school in my state so that is another reason why I chose it.

Course Curriculum :

The course curriculum is challenging however it prepares you for your degree. While many of the classes I felt like it could have been taught better since some time I had to teach myself, for the most part, they were well taught and challenging and applicable.

Exams :

The types of the exam I took were mostly math and science exams. They were tests that I needed to take in class and they weren't take home. It consisted of a calculus exam, organic chemistry, physics, and engineering. The only standardized test I took was the ACT.

Placement :

The job opportunity was okay however the school could have been more helpful in explaining the routes in engineering. My mindset was that I could only do R&D and it wasn't until my coop that I found out all the opportunities out there for engineering.

Internship :

No, it doesn't but it did hold a career fair. This is where many companies came from all over to offer information about the opportunities at the company. It allowed for on-campus interviews which allowed for it to be easier to get a job.

Events :

There weren't many events celebrated at my school apart from when I graduated. They also have an event for my certain major each year like pot luck and barbecue to celebrate the graduates and the end of the semester.

Fees :

The fees that I had to pay in the college of engineering was higher than the other colleges. We also had to pay to use the resources at the college of engineering like our machine shop as well as other modeling equipment.

Scholarship :

Yes, I got financial aid every semester but didn't have any scholarships. Most of the scholarships I applied for I did not receive.

Examination Structure :

The exams were all written and in class. Most of them had multiple problems that were multiple parts. Since I am engineering, they were math and science so there was conceptual questions as well as calculations.

Faculty :

The faculty are very intelligent and qualified people. Most of the faculty at my college had their Ph.D. in whatever they were teaching. They also had successful research labs and were a great resource.

Hostel :

Freshman year I lived in the dorms which allowed me to meet most of my friends throughout college. Off-campus leaving wasn't difficult to find but it was expensive as well as not very nice. They are building more apartments in Madison but they are very expensive.
