I chose the University of Adelaide as it is ranked in the top 1% of universities worldwide. They're also a member of Australia's Group of Eight, made up of the country's best universities, and feature a beautiful campus with traditional sandstone buildings mixed with cutting-edge learning and research facilities.
Course Curriculum :
The course syllabus that I was exposed to in my first and second semester was considered to be updated and relevant to the current understanding of IT. As of now, I have not been given any industrial exposure or research experience yet.
Exams :
My scores: IELTS 8.0; Class minimum score: IELTS7.5; SAT 1560/1600; ACT 30/36, TOEFL 103/120.
Placement :
The companies that have visited the university are such as Google, Microsoft and other big companies and they have provided opportunities to intern with their company. For my course, we are not offered placements as it is not part of the course outline.
Events :
There are many different clubs offered to us and I am currently a part of the Rotaract Club where I am able to participate in volunteering activities organized byt the club. There are also lots of events and extracurricular activities on campus that are organized by the university's union. The research facilities, libraries, WiFi, sports facilities are all provided to students and are all in good condition.
Scholarship :
No, I did not have any scholarship
Faculty :
The faculty to student ratio is 30:70. The faculty and staff are knowledgeable and are always ready to help the students with any issues. They are very well versed and approachable. A professor or staff on campus who have left an incredible impact on me is Mr Jason.
Hostel :
I am staying in a student accommodation and the accommodating rooms is a shared room. The accommodation provides many other rooms for different preference and the rentals are all listed on their website.
