IIT Delhi, the exam conducting authority has released the examination schedule for GATE 2020. It will conduct the engineering exam in total 8 slots, two each on February 1, 2, 8 and 9, 2020. As per GATE 2020 Paper Schedule, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering exam will be held in two sessions while other 23 papers will be held in single session.
A total of 8,58,030 candidates have applied for GATE 2020. IIT Delhi has released the list of candidates with defects in application forms. These candidates can rectify the defects through GATE 2020 Form Correction window till December 6, 2019 upto 5:00 PM.

Candidates preparing for GATE 2020 must note the eligibility criteria for the same. This would help the candidates to determine their suitability before making an application for the exam. Candidates not satisfying the eligibility criteria would be disqualified from the exam during any subsequent stage.

Age Criteria- There is no age limit for GATE, candidates from any age group can apply for the exam.
Nationality- Applicant must be an Indian citizen. Candidates from outside India can also apply for the exam if they fulfill the required eligibility criteria.
Academic Qualification-
Candidates who registered after May 31, 2013 for certification equivalent to B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch from any of the professional societies (IE, ICE, IETE, AeSI, IIE, IIM etc) are now eligible to apply for GATE 2020, provided they meet rest of the GATE Eligibility Criteria
Is a candidate eligible to take GATE 2020 exam if he/she has one backlog in 8th semester?
Candidates who have qualified B.Tech or are currently in the final year of graduation are eligible for GATE 2020.
Is a candidate with 56% marks in M.Sc. eligible for GATE exam?
Yes, candidates with minimum 45% marks in bachelors degree are eligible for GATE exam.
GATE 2020 Application Form was available from August 31 till October 5, 2019. GATE Registration was completely online. Candidates had to submit the application form with payment of fees by visiting the official website – gate.iitd.ac.in.

GATE aspirants were provided the facility to make corrections (if any) in the application form from October 15 – November 25, 2019.
