Lovely Professional University (LPU) offers various scholarships and financial aid that can be availed by students in all programs offered by the university ranging from Diplomas to Ph.D. LPU offers a scholarship scheme of up to INR 5.7 Lakh per student. LPU Students have been awarded scholarships worth INR 100+ crores in the last year itself. 

LPU offers Scholarships to candidates based on their performance in any of the following categories:

LPU Scholarship Brackets & Phases

The percentage of LPU Scholarship varies program-wise as per the given table. For each of the scholarship categories offered by LPU, three brackets (Brackets 1, 2, and 3) are defined. Each bracket includes specific criteria which must be fulfilled by the candidate to fall into that particular bracket. Scholarship Criteria in Bracket 1 is the strictest which means the students meeting the requirement of Bracket 1 (top bracket) gets the highest scholarship and those in Bracket 2 or Bracket 3 gets relatively lesser scholarship.

LPU Scholarship Phases

Admissions to various courses at LPU are done in different Phases, which are basically the bifurcations of the time period of the admission process. The amount of the LPU Scholarship also depends on the Phase in which the candidate takes admission to the University. The amount of LPU Scholarships reduces with each passing phase.

LPU Scholarship: Based on LPUNEST

Lovely Professional University conducts its own entrance cum scholarship test LPUNEST (LPU National Entrance & Scholarship Test). LPUNEST forms the basis of admission eligibility and scholarships for most of the programs offered by LPU. LPUNEST forms the basis for the scholarship for a specific program depending on the fee of the program, date of admission, and performance of the student in LPUNEST.

There are three brackets for the LPU Scholarship offered based on LPUNEST:

• LPUNEST Score more than or equal to Category I Cutoff
• LPUNEST Score more than or equal to Category II Cutoff
• LPUNEST Score more than or equal to Category III Cutoff

LPUNEST Phase-I registration has begun. The last date to apply for LPUNEST Phase-I is January 15, 2024. Here are the course-wise LPUNEST Scholarship Details for Phase-I (Current Schedule) for all three categories:  

LPU Scholarship: Based on CUET 

The Ministry of Education, (MoE) has introduced the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for admission into all Under Graduate Programmes in all Central Universities. LPU also accepts admission to its various UG courses on the basis of CUET and offers scholarships for various programs on the basis of performance in the CUET as follows:

LPU Scholarship: Based on Work Experience in MBA

Candidates enrolled in the MBA program offered by LPU are eligible for scholarships based on their work experience. The candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of full-time work experience for the scholarship before submitting the application. The university will not consider full-time internships for the calculation of two-year work requirements. The two years of work experience can be from different employers but a minimum of 6 months of experience from one employer will be required. The applicants may also be called for a personal interview to validate the claims and documents submitted for the scholarship. 

Documents Required 

Candidates need to submit the following documents to avail LPU MBA Scholarship based on Work Experience: 

• Experience Certificate mentioning Date of Joining, Working Hours, Date of Relieving, Job Responsibilities, Salary, etc.
• At least 1 Reference Letter from any of the past employer/s.

LPU Scholarship: Based on National Level Tests

LPU offers Scholarship for various programs on the basis of the Performance/ Rank of the candidates in the following National Level Entrance Tests:

The Scholarship Policy is valid for only One Year and its continuation for the next session will be based on the scoring of 6 Marks out of 10 as per scholarship continuation criteria:

Candidates enrolled in this scholarship are also offered various academic benefits based on their achievements such as: 

• 20% Bonus Marks in Overall Marks.
• Duty Leave for All Competition Days approved by the Student Welfare Wing.
• Duty Leave for a Maximum of 3 Weeks for Competition Preparation for events approved by the Division of Start-up Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
• Re-Appear Chance in case a student misses ETP due to participation in some university-approved event.

LPU Scholarship: Based on Sports, R & D, Co-curricular Activities, Social Service & Bravery

LPU Ph.D. Scholarship

Candidates enrolled in the PhD program at LPU can avail of scholarships on various basis such as LPUNEST, Research Fellowship, Industry Professionals, and Teaching Fraternity.

On the Basis of Performance in LPUNEST (PhD.)

LPU Ph.D. Scholarship based on LPUNEST is as follows: 

Note: Applicant seeking exemption from LPUNEST PhD based on UGC (NET/ JRF)/ CSIR (NET/ JRF)/ ICAR (JRF/ SRF) examination/ SLET (Punjab only)/ GATE/ GPAT/ ICAR (NET), Teacher Fellowship holder or passed M.Phil. Program (in Regular mode only) may appear for test LPUNEST (PhD) to avail of the scholarship as mentioned above. 

Apart from LPUNEST, scholarships up to 90% of the program fee are offered to research associates in centrally funded labs, Professionals working in Industry/Corporate/Teaching, and candidates with various research achievements.

LPU Scholarship: Toppers of Education Boards

LPU offers a scholarship scheme of full Programme fee waiver to the Top 20 Rank holders of every Recognized School Board including State, Central, and Open Board provided a minimum of 1000 students should have appeared in the given exam. 

The benefits of the LPU Scholarship offered to Toppers of Education Boards are as follows: 

• Full Programme Fee waiver (Including Examination Fee)
• Free Stay in a Four-Seater Room (Air Cooled Room) in Hostel/Free Transport Facility
