Carleton University has a separate Data Science Lab and they specialize in Data Science. I can choose courses from either Carleton or Ottawa and thus have the advantage of studying at another branded university. I could shape my master's curriculum. I can study whatever I want. This is what I studied about ML in my Master's. Carleton has an underground tunnel to keep you warm while you go to university in the winter. They have well-knowledgeable faculty. They cover more material and the exams are tougher but you will benefit from learning many things. Carleton is one of the best institutions if you want to tailor your master's to your interests. You have the option of taking courses outside your department. I took two courses outside my department.

Fees:

20000 CAD. But I only paid 15000 CAD because I had good grades and completed my masters in 3 terms.

Carleton University is one of the highly ranked universities in Canada and is located in I capital of Ontario i.e. Ottawa which is one of the best places for international students in terms of Job Opportunities and facilities. Furthermore, the University has its alumni placed in high-ranked companies which is a big plus point to join Carleton.

I learned about this college through word of mouth from older friends who went there. The admission process was very easy (like most other Ontario universities done through OUAC). I applied to three other universities (Toronto, Laurentian, and Windsor). I choose this university because when touring the school I realized how nice the campus was- everything is conveniently together in one campus and there is a very warm sense of community there. The students are kind and the profs care about students. There is always help for anything you are experiencing. Ottawa itself provides the capital city advantage with lots of volunteer and job opportunities as well as delicious restaurants, lots of services, and tourism. I was an A student in grade 12.

Fees:

There are many scholarships awarded for students according to grades but they're also many scholarships for students in need or in a tight financial situation as well as international applicants which can be further discussed with financial aid offices located on campus. Tuition is paid by semester and differs for each student

Least expensive University in the Ottawa area. The only other option is Ottawa University and their tutition is almost a third more expensive. This was the only University I applied to, therefore I did not spend a lot of time or money applying to different schools. I believe that the application price was just over $200.

Fees:

The tuition is very affordable at Carleton and there are lots of opportunities for bursaries and scholarships. There is often an entrance scholarship for most students and more based on your GPA. I used OSAP and my entrance scholarship to pay for my tuition in addition to prior savings. However, changes to OSAP mean that my most recent tuition left me paying $1200 out of my pocket

Good school for the program I wanted to take, and the city I study in is very big in the career path I'm hoping to take. Got a scholarship and an award, out of the 5 schools I got accepted to it was the highest amount of money. Wanted to go to this school since I knew I was going to university. I took law in high school and knew that was the path I wanted to take, and within the program, I am in I learn about so many interesting things.

Fees:

The fees are broken down into several categories in which you can opt in or out, obviously, there are only certain ones you can opt-out of. Obviously, tuition is not cheap, it is around over 7 grand which does not include living expenses, etc.

It’s in Ottawa, which is very helpful for my major. So much history has happened here and is happening. I also really liked how close the campus is. It’s really contained but still big enough that you feel like you’re somewhere new.

Fees:

I pay for tuition and books and resident. But I think it’s pretty good or regular compared to other schools I guess.

Studied in Israel for Highschool, had a hard time readjusting back to learning in English. Carleton has a program where you are a full time student, but take 3 courses with extra tutorials and support. It brought my grades up to par and I was accepted into my program. I also knew that financially, it made more sense to be at home. I was originally in international business, where I was to do an exchange, but I swapped into a bcom in order to pursue entrepreneurship. I am keeping my minor in German.

Fees:

$7,500-$8,000 for a year. At Carleton, different loans and scholarships etc are available and can be won with certain qualifications /found online. You can also speak with your academic advisor in order to learn more, or on campus financial aid services. In my first year, I won a bursary. This was based on grades and I was nominated too, in the small program I was in with extra support.

Because of the masters specialized fields in signal speech and image processing. I always wants to do the research with their professional in this field and carleton university has professors that have a ongoing projects for this field. Carleton has an internship program for research students and also they offers TA to them.

Fees:

It is very high 40000$ for masters. carleton has a rule that you can choose only 3 subjects in one term so if you wants to complete the 10 subjects than you have to take 4 terms otherwise you can not complete your masters. This rule needs to go but they are not allowing it. If they allows only one term with 4 subjects than fees will be 30000$ and that's a $10000 saved.

Great programs offered to the students. I was originally deciding against Ottawa University and Carleton then I Chose Carleton because they seem to focus a little more on the needs of the students and providing help where they can whereas you seemed to be on your own at Ottawa.

Fees:

Tuition was very expensive and normally covered some basic things including a bus pass for students. People with cars, however, had to pay for parking passes which are not in good locations on very high levels of parking garages that don't have elevators and are very expensive. Also most of the textbooks were very expensive and a lot of classes required more than one book.

Ques. Why is Carleton University a good school?

● Top Answer By Nathan Turmel on 12 Jan 21

Ans. There are many reasons to embrace Carleton both overall as well as in specific areas. The University has been ranked between #601-651 by QS World Ranking 2021 and offers A-class facilities along with top-notch infrastructure. It's an established university with proud scholar chairs. The college is linked by underground tunnels and helps you to navigate smoothly, especially during harsh winters. One striking feature is it is the only university in Canada to specifically cater to disabled students- be in class, residents or the entire campus.  It's journalism school is world-renowned and the university is also known for its economic and business programs. It also provides a full-time BA program in Social Work as well as a deal with Ottawa that lets you take credits in French at the university itself.  It was also one of the earliest Canadian Universities offering distance education along with its 'Tapes To You' program where the classes were recorded and mailed to students in case you missed those classes. Carleton always holds an advantage as it's placed in Ottawa, which is relatively cheaper in terms of cost of living and a bit less in terms of extreme weather conditions. The university prepares its students for real-world jobs to critically think and shape the world and even facilitates them with ample internship and industrial opportunities in some of its collaborating tech companies at Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, etc. Microsoft, Google, Grey Matter, and Government Agencies including CIA, GAO, etc. are some of the major collaborators and top recruiters of Carleton University.  The university's unique programs, which you won't find anywhere else, prove it to be the best of the rest. Bagging with over thousands of Research projects and more than 55 million CAD in sponsored funding, the university stands to be more prominent than others.  Over 42 million in scholarships and bursaries are awarded to undergraduate students for excellence in academics and curriculum. With an impressive graduate employment rate of over 92.1% Carleton lands some of its students in top-paying jobs in Canada. Lastly, the campus is beautiful and outside the city center but also open to a lot of job opportunities.Read more
