I did my own research. I got to know this is one of the colleges where I can apply from my range of marks. But this was the last in my last to go. I have applied to many universities like Waterloo, Alberta. According to my score, I was pretty confident that I would get into a better university for sure. Dalhousie was last in my list, but I got admission here. So I got to know the flavor of competition going on in Canada.

Fees:

The tuition fee varied each term. the first term it was around C$6500. As the next term started, they increased the fee gradually, it was around C$7500-8500. In my last term, I almost paid C$9000

It is in a city that I have visited and wanted to live in and it is a very strong research school. I only applied to this school but I applied to several different programs within the school. I performed well academically in high school so I appreciate the challenge of some of the courses at this school.

Fees:

My tuition is about $9000 a year. I got a government student loan and was not awarded any scholarships as I am a transfer student. The school does offer bursaries that students can apply for once every semester and they can help offset some costs. They are given out based on financial need. I applied for one this semester.

My academic score is good but the sole purpose I have chosen this college is one that I have friends and relatives living in Halifax, other reasons include the internship benefit of the course, short tenure, less academic stress, high chance to be part of Atlantic nominee program. One more thing is that Dalhousie is one of the top universities in Canada that I can afford. As I completed my Bachelor's in Computer Science, I am sure that I need to enhance my knowledge in the same field, so that?s the reason for my master's in computer science.

Fees:

The fee structure is like around $5000 each semester which includes transit, gym, society fees altogether. The total course in rupees will come around 13-15 lakhs. I took an education loan from a bank back home. Even to get a loan it took me a month. For Masters, there are not many scholarships available but they do offer teaching assistants and best student awards.

Picked this university because it was the most reputable in my area, I did not want to travel too far, and by going here I can live with my sister and watch my nephew grow up. The public transit option is a great way to get to and from school without having to waste more time and money looking for a parking spot every day.

Fees:

2 payments, one first semester and one second, the larger payment being first, includes medical insurance, bus pass, facility renewal fees, etc, tuition, instrumentation fee, and the list goes on.

I chose this university because of the location and the program that was offered. The program included a Co-op program which will help me in the future with a future career in this field as it is very competitive.

Fees:

The fee structure is 2 payments, one per semester to cover tuition. There are also textbook costs which are to your discretion of whether you want to buy them or not or if they are mandatory. There are no other fees.

This particular university is quite nearby to where I live which is a big factor (I wanted to stay in Nova Scotia). I also heard a lot of good things about the kinesiology program before beginning my degree here at Dalhousie.

Fees:

The fees all get combined together into one tuition cost for each semester. They charge for everything Dalhousie offers, regardless of whether you use it or not. However, you can opt out of certain things that you do not use, so that's good.

I received the most money in scholarships at Dalhousie. I was also interested in the medical science program which I got accepted to. It was close to home so I would still be close to my family which was a plus.

Fees:

Each class runs around $1000 a class with art classes being slightly less than science class. Typically my science classes have labs which makes them more expensive.

I opted for this college because of the high ratings it has and because of the diversity of its student population. The quality of education is also really high and very research focused. Moreover, I love it because my friends are also a part of my community and I get to maintain these relationships

Fees:

The fee structure seems very fair however this situation may change in the near future. They also offer awards and bursaries for those in need and for those who excel academically or athletically.

I grew up in Halifax minutes away from Dal campus and it's something I've always associated with home. I played varsity volleyball and since Dal has an excellent team that was another pull factor. All of my family are Dalhousie alum so it is great that I get to continue the tradition.

Fees:

Fees structure is very straight forward. Tuition is due in the third week of classes as by this time you will have had your schedule figured out. Paying tuition is very easy as you can either do it through online banking or cheques.

I wanted to go to Dalhousie since I was a child. My mother got her BSc there and it's local to where I live. I love Halifax as a whole. It has a beautiful waterfront and friendly people. Also, my dream hospital job is located in Halifax too so it only made sense to go to school here.

Fees:

Tuition is usually about $4300 per semester plus other fees, totaling approximately $4800 without health and dental.

Ques. Which Canadian university is better for a foundation course, Ryerson University, University of Manitoba or Dalhousie University?

● Top Answer By Angie Dawson on 03 Feb 21

Ans. While all these have their own perks, it's a given to prefer Dalhousie over Ryerson and Manitoba. QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2020 has ranked only Dalhousie University at #301-500 . Ryerson is your best choice if you're planning to live in a big city- while the others are situated in small towns. Still, all three have pretty similar foundation courses and ultimately depends on how seriously you take it. Ryerson University is known for many leading programs like Journalism, Sports Media, Arts, Communication and Design, Community Services, Engineering, and Business; there are some specialised programs only for international students with the Ryerson ESL Foundation Program. It has 62 undergraduate programs and 49 minor technical programs. The University of Manitoba is one of the oldest medical-doctoral research universities known for its professional schools like law, engineering, business, medicine, dentistry, architecture which has a total of 108 different degrees, diplomas, and certificates. Dalhousie University is known for many leading programs like Arts & Humanities, Clinical, pre-clinical & health, Engineering & Technology, Life sciences, Physical sciences, Social sciences, and Business & Economics. It has 120 undergraduate programs, and 80+ postgraduate and doctorate programs.Ryerson University has been ranked #601-800, the University of Manitoba has been ranked #351-400, and Dalhousie University has been ranked #251-300 by The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021. All these three universities have a good placement with 86.7% Employment rate of Ryerson University, 83% for the University of Manitoba, and 84% for Dalhousie University.Read more

Ans. Ranking wise Dalhousie University is good and the Job opportunity-wise University of Windsor is better, Halifax has more part-time job opportunities and fewer full-time jobs and the pay scale is lower and the tax is higher. As an international student, you might face difficulty with tuition and funding. At Halifax you will get plenty of parttime jobs. Since Halifax is also larger than Windsor, you will have more options. Both universities have good placement with an 85.91% Employment rate of the University of Windsor and 84% Employment rate of Dalhousie University.  The University of Windsor is known for many leading programs like Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, Education, Engineering, Graduate Studies, Human Kinetics, Law, Nursing, Business, and Science whereas Dalhousie University is known for its programs like Arts & Humanities, Clinical, pre-clinical & health, Engineering & Technology, Life sciences, Physical sciences, Social sciences, and Business & Economics. QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2020 has ranked only Dalhousie University at #301-500. Selecting a university depends upon your priority. If you want to get a good education go for Dalhousie University but to get settled early in Canada go for Windsor University. Overall Dalhousie University is the potential choice as you can always move to Ontario if you don't find any job in Nova Scotia.Read more
